American Veterans is a non-profit, volunteer operated, Veteran’s service organization. The helping hands we extend takes many forms. Over one hundred Veterans and their families come through our doors each month needing help; last year alone we helped thousands. Mountains of disability and other issues remain back logged and the problems have worsened in the past few years. Often appeals and Notice of Disagreement and more must be completed. It takes many phone calls, paperwork, and most importantly follow up, to come to a successful conclusion. Our Post works with Veterans and their families to help obtain their benefits and fulfill their needs. For instance, all Veterans can receive medications prescribed for them from a non-VA doctor. Hearing aids, free glasses and many other benefits that are available, even to Veterans who were in for a brief time.
In order to continue to help Veterans in the best way possible, our Post runs a full bar and restaurant, operated solely by volunteers, 7 days a week, from 7:00am to 9:00pm. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with special fundraiser dinners throughout each month. Approximately 50% of the proceeds made at our Post goes to help veterans causes. Causes such as, getting into the VA systems, jobs, travel pay, co-pays, pensions, disability, housing and even education. Our Post also runs a Yard Sale every Friday and Saturday from 7:00am to 12:00pm, just down the street from the Post. All proceeds from that as well, go towards veteran’s causes.
Almost everyone is welcome to join our Post. A membership Donation is just $41.00 a year. Our Post desperately needs your support, please help us help our Veterans. Remember, out of every dollar you spend, approximately half goes to local Veteran’s causes.
By coming to our Post to eat, drink, listen to music, or participate in a fundraiser, you are showing your support for all those Veterans in need. Freedom isn’t free. Remember what our Veterans have sacrificed over the last 100 years, WWI, WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan and many more.
