Please join us in welcoming Major General Charles “Chuck” Anderson, U.S. Army (Ret.), to the Project Healing Waters Board of Trustees.

Chuck brings more than three decades of military service, a distinguished career in organizational leadership, and a lifelong commitment to supporting Veterans, service members, and their families to Project Healing Waters.

Chuck retired from the U.S. Army in 2011 after 32 years of active-duty service. An Air Defense Artillery officer, he served in six Army divisions and became the first Air Defense Artillery officer to command an Army division. His career included assignments throughout the Middle East and senior leadership roles focused on training, readiness, modernization, and the sustainment of U.S. forces around the world.

Following his military retirement, Chuck continued his career in leadership, including serving as President of PAE, where he led more than 20,000 employees across 72 countries. Throughout that work, service to the military community remained an important part of his life.

What ultimately brought Chuck to Project Healing Waters was something much simpler, a shared love for Veterans and fly fishing.

He believes our nation has an enduring responsibility to care for those who have served and sees in Project Healing Waters the unique power of time on the water, meaningful relationships, and a community built around healing. An enthusiastic fly angler himself, Chuck has recently returned to the classroom to refresh his skills and turn fly fishing into what he calls a “real hobby.”

“I’m intrinsically rewarded when I see good things happen to good people.”

We are incredibly grateful to have Chuck bring that spirit of service, leadership, and commitment to our Board of Trustees.

Welcome to Project Healing Waters, Chuck.

Please join us in welcoming Jim Sharman to the Project Healing Waters Board of Trustees.

Jim brings more than four decades of leadership experience and a deep commitment to service to Project Healing Waters.

Before beginning his business career, Jim served nine years in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Captain. His service included leadership assignments in the United States and Germany before returning to the United States Military Academy at West Point as a faculty member, helping develop the next generation of Army leaders.

Following his military service, Jim built a career leading organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and change. He has held senior executive positions including President & COO of GoHealth, COO of Coyote Logistics, and President & CEO of World Kitchen. Today, he serves as Chairman of The Shyft Group while continuing to advise companies and corporate boards.

But it is Jim’s connection to service and the Veteran community that brings him to Project Healing Waters.

He believes the commitment our Veterans made to this country deserves an equally strong commitment from the communities they return home to.

“Our Veterans deserve more than we can ever give them. They did their part protecting our freedom - it’s our turn now.”

For Jim, that commitment is rooted in something that has remained important throughout his life: relationships, service, and giving back.

We are grateful to have Jim bring his experience, perspective, and continued commitment to America’s Veterans to our Board of Trustees as we work to expand the impact of Project Healing Waters in communities across the country.

Welcome to Project Healing Waters, Jim.
