Good morning from beautiful Yorktown, Virginia! We are ready to kick off the 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 this morning! Here are 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 to ensure you don’t miss a moment of the fun:

🎟️ Admission is free and open to the public!
⛵ The Parade of Sail begins at 9 a.m. and can be viewed from the Yorktown Waterfront.
⚓ Free deck tours begin at 12 p.m. today!
🎉 There will be family-friendly events and live music until 5 p.m. at Riverwalk Landing, the Beach Picnic Area, Historic Main Street, and the Yorktown Battlefield.
🎵 The Tiki Bar Band performs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. tonight at Riverwalk Landing!

We like big boats, and we cannot lie! 🤩 The ships are starting to arrive in Yorktown! 🎉🎉

Join us at 9 a.m. tomorrow as we kick off the 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 with a spectacular Parade of Sail on the York River. These beauties will be joined by military vessels, search and rescue ships, and a festival fleet of nearly 40 boaters from across the state. It’s going to be a sight to behold, so bring your camera and patriotic pride! ⚓

The ⛵ 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 ⛵ is just a few days away! Here’s what you should 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒐:

🕐 The event takes place over three days (June 12-14)! Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

👏 The event is FREE! (There may be costs associated with individual purchases like sailing charters, food, or merchandise.)

⛵ The following ships will be in port: 𝘎𝘰𝘥𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘦𝘥, 𝘓𝘶𝘯𝘢, 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘐𝘐, and 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺. Additionally, Sail Beyond Cancer’s 𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 and several U.S. military and search & rescue vessels will be docked. Many will offer free deck tours Friday from 12 - 5 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

👟 Some ships may not allow open-toe shoes. We strongly recommend wearing closed-toe shoes for the deck tours.

🚙 Parking is available (and free!) at several public lots, including a two-level terrace right by the waterfront. ADA-accessible spaces are available on the lower level and in all other public lots. If the lots are full, special event parking will be available on the Yorktown Battlefield at 2100 Cook Road.

🚎 The Yorktown Trolley will be in operation from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days! Track it in real time using the free ETA SPOT app.

🛣️ The Colonial Parkway from Penniman Road to Ballard Street will be open for this event!

🍔 In addition to nearly 10 restaurant options, there will be several food trucks spread out around town.

🍺 You are welcome to bring your own food, but alcohol is only allowed to be brought in and consumed during the evening concerts in the designated area.

🦮 Dogs on a leash are allowed at Riverwalk Landing and Historic Main Street. They are not allowed on Yorktown Beach or the ships.

Do you have what it takes to be a sailor? 🤔 Test your skills at the Maritime Throwdown during the 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 from June 12 to 14!
