🎉 MABEL IS ADOPTED! 🐾🏡💕

Our sweet Mabel has officially found her forever home, and we couldn’t be happier for her! ❤️

She was adopted by the most wonderful, incredibly kind couple who also have a sweet, gentle dog waiting to be her new friend. Mabel is already so happy, and seeing her safe, loved, and settling into her new life makes our hearts so full. 🥹

We are incredibly grateful for Mabel’s amazing adopters for opening their hearts and home to her. After everything she’s been through, she deserves a life filled with nothing but love, patience, comfort, and security.

We’re so excited to watch Mabel continue to heal and blossom on this next part of her journey with her forever family. 🏡🐾❤️

Happy tails, sweet girl. You made it. 💕

🐾 JACK UPDATE! 🐾

Our sweet little Jack is doing so much better! ❤️

He’s still struggling with a little bit of diarrhea, and some congestion, but both continues to improve, and most importantly, he’s gaining weight, eating well, and getting stronger every day. 🙌

We’ve also learned something very important about Jack: he does NOT like being left alone. 😂 He wants to be wherever his people are, so naturally… Jack now comes to work with us.

Today he’s serving as our very official Painting Supervisor, tucked into his towel nest on top of the ladder, making sure everyone stays on task. 😂🎨🐾 Clearly, management is exhausting.

It’s hard to believe this is the same little guy who came to us so sick with Giardia and a URI, after being thrown outside because of his severe diarrhea. He was in such bad shape that he would not have survived much longer without help.

Now he’s gaining weight, getting stronger, demanding constant companionship, and apparently pursuing a career in construction management. 🥹❤️

Keep going, Jack. You’ve come so far already. 🐾

🐾 Introducing Mo-reen, Larry & Curly 🍼❤️

These three tiny babies unexpectedly joined the Humane TNR family after their mama was sadly hit and killed by a car. 💔 With no mom left to care for them, these little ones are now being bottle fed around the clock.

🤎 Mo-reen — their sweet little sister (because every Three Stooges crew needs a Mo! 😂)

They’re so incredibly tiny and completely dependent on us right now—warm bottles, potty help, clean bedding, snuggles…and then we start all over again a few hours later. 🍼😴

Their beginning is heartbreaking, but their story doesn’t have to be. Mama may not have made it home to them, but her babies are safe, warm, fed and very loved. ❤️

Welcome to the family, Mo-reen, Larry & Curly. 🐾

We’ll take it from here, Mama. 🌈

Meet Jack. 🖤🐾

This sweet little guy was thrown outside because he had severe diarrhea. He was sick, weak, dealing with Giardia and an upper respiratory infection, and in absolutely no condition to be left on his own.

Had he not been found when he was, he very likely would not have survived the night.

Jack has now seen the vet and started treatment. His diarrhea is slowly improving, and we’re finally seeing little signs that his body is beginning to recover.

And through all of it, he has been unbelievably friendly, loving, and grateful. He just wants to be close to people, be held, and know that he’s safe. It’s hard to understand how anyone could look at a sick baby like this and decide that putting him outside was the answer.

But Jack doesn’t know any of that. He just knows that now he has food, warmth, medicine, and people who care about him. 🥹

He still has some healing to do, but we’re going to make sure he gets every chance he deserves.

This!!! We’ve even been asked if we “get paid for every cat we take in” 😣 No, we actually pay with our own money very often!

The ugly truth about "free" TNR

We hear it every week:
“Can someone come trap these cats?”
"Why do I have to pay? These aren't my cats, I just feed them because I don't want them to starve."

We understand.
Most people don’t realize what goes into TNR they just think it should be “free” and that someone else can handle it.

But here’s the truth:
That “free” service you’re asking for?
It's only free to the person asking, never to the people doing the work.

Every trap, every can of food, every drop of gas costs someone. Appointment fees, Capstar, dewormer, tuna, cat food, gas, even puppy pads to line traps, none of it appears out of thin air.

Each “free” TNR job costs hundreds of dollars before we even count the hours of driving, feeding, cleaning, trapping, and returning.

And behind every “free” service are real people.
Volunteers washing soiled traps in their driveways.
Loading and unloading scared community cats before sunrise.
Skipping dinners and losing sleep to make sure those cats get trapped, fixed, vaccinated, and safely returned.

This isn’t a hobby it’s hard, messy, emotional, draining, real work.

“Free” doesn’t mean easy. It means someone else is paying the price.
Through their time.
Through their gas tank.
Through their weekend.
Through their heart.

So next time someone says, "Well, these aren't my cats", remember they aren't ours either. These cats didn't ask to be there. Someone let it get to this point, and now we can work together to make it right.

If you can’t trap, donate 💰.
If you can’t donate, share 📣.
If you can’t share, educate 📖.

Because, behind every "free" TNR is someone quietly spending their own time, money, and heart to make sure cats don't keep multiplying in silence.

Every cat matters. Every caretaker matters. Every dollar helps 🤟🏼🐈

💗 And we haven’t forgotten about Mama Luna

While we’ve shared lots of updates about her babies and how incredibly far they’ve come, their sweet mama has been quietly working on her own recovery, too.

Luna still isn’t 100% healthy. It has taken her a little longer to heal — and honestly, when you think about the life she lived before coming to us, it’s not hard to understand why.

For at least three years, this girl survived outside. Three years of having litter after litter, being sick herself, searching for food and water, and trying to find somewhere safe and dry to shelter from the heat, cold, rain and everything else that comes with life on the streets. And through all of that, she somehow kept her babies alive. ❤️‍🩹

Learning to trust people has taken time.

Right now, Luna has decided that one of our volunteers is her person. 🥹 She absolutely adores her, as you can see in this video. She leans into her touch, purrs, asks for affection and finally allows herself to relax and feel safe.

Everyone else? Well… she’s still deciding how she feels about us. 😂 And we can’t blame her one bit. After everything humans and life have shown her, she gets to decide when — and if — she’s ready to trust.

The most important thing is that she never has to survive again.

Luna is content here. She has food every single day. Fresh water. A warm, dry place to sleep. Medical care. Soft blankets. People looking out for her. And she will never have to have another litter of kittens or spend another night trying to survive outside.

There is no deadline for her to become the perfectly social, adoptable cat. Luna can take as long as she needs.

And if she decides that this is as far as she wants to go? That’s okay, too.

She will stay with us forever. ❤️

Her babies got their miracle — and Mama deserves hers, too. For Luna, maybe the miracle is simply knowing that for the rest of her life, she is finally safe. 🐾❤️
