June 19 is Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It is a day to honor Black history, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of freedom and justice.
At Violence Free Futures, our work to end domestic violence is rooted in recognizing and addressing the unfair barriers that impact the people we serve. We believe everyone deserves equal access to safety, support, and healing.
While our offices remain open today, we take time to reflect, learn, and honor the significance of this day.

Would you like to help support survivors in your community?
We’ve created an Amazon wish list with items that are greatly needed right now, including ladies’ deodorant, baby wipes, size 5 diapers and pull-ups, silverware sets, twin and queen sheet sets, and shower curtains, just to name a few.
We also gratefully accept donations of dog and cat food to help care for the pets of those we serve.
Every donation makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the survivors we support. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Thanks to the generosity of Greene County Parks & Trails, we’re excited to offer an 8-week summer field trip series for the families in our shelter! Their support opens the door to so many new opportunities, allowing participants to explore local parks, try new activities, and enjoy fun, family-friendly experiences each week.
These outings help families build positive memories, strengthen connections, and create moments of joy and exploration all summer long. We’re so grateful for this support! First up Young's Jersey Dairy 🌿☀️🐮🍧🎠And a big thank you to our volunteer Molly!

💜 Our 2nd Annual Staff Retreat on Wednesday was such a meaningful day!
We kicked things off with delicious bagels generously donated by Bootleg Bagels (the perfect start!) and had some fun tapping into our creative side with Shrinky D***s, because who doesn’t love those?
We were honored to welcome the incredible Jeanette Adkins, the G.O.A.T advocate, who led us through a powerful shadow box activity, a beautiful reminder of how creativity can be healing and grounding.
We also enjoyed amazing homemade cookies by Debbie Matheson🍪
We wrapped up with Dr. Jen Cain, Doctor of Physical Therapy, who led a session that was a little “twisted” (in the best way!) and incredibly impactful, blending movement and mindset.
It was a day full of connection, creativity, and feeling truly seen. 💜
