Today, the organization continues to champion rights for those victimized by crime advocating for victims' rights in the state of Ohio and nationally for a U.S. Constitutional amendment to include equal rights for crime victims to those of the accused.

Congratulations to OVWA member Mark Weiner - the recipient of the 2011 Dr. Marlene Young Victim Advocacy Leadership Award! Mark was recognized by his colleagues at the OVWA Christmas meeting in his hometown of Newark, Ohio in December. The award recipient is chosen annually by the OVWA Past Presidents Committee and recognizes outstanding leadership in the field of advocacy in Ohio. We're proud of you, Mark!
