Thank you to Bob Fischer, the new superintendent at the Greene County Educational Service Center, who spoke at our weekly meeting on 8/25/26. He took over the role on August 1, succeeding Terry Graves-Streiter, who retired after a 30-year career with the ESC, 11 years of which she spent as superintendent. He shared about his new job and his background. We are so grateful he could join us!

Fischer earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Miami University and a master’s degree in educational leadership.

He serves as a marching band adjudicator and has spent 32 years as a band director, middle/high school administrator, and superintendent at Twin Valley, National Trail, and Carlisle schools.

We are saddened by the loss of the legendary and beloved Dolly Parton. Our club is a huge supporter of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, and each week, in honor of and in thanks to each guest speaker, we make a donation to the DPIL, which provides a book a month for a child from birth to age 5. Last week, we were saddened to learn of the sudden passing of former Xenia Community Schools Board member, Tami Bartley. Tami was a first grade teacher for Fairborn Schools and was devoted to her students and to public education.

She never stopped advocating for and supporting Xenia's students, families and public education.

We know that she will be dearly missed by many, and our hearts and prayers go out to her family during this very difficult time.
