Background of Diana Duteil: Diana was a 1986 graduate of Greenview High School. She excelled in the Sciences and her love of animals led her to want to contribute in animal research and even into veterinary medicine. She was a volunteer for the Humane Society of Greene County. Diana participated in sports at Greenview as a member of the girls basketball team and the softball team when they compet

ed for state championship. During her school years, always ambitious, Diana worked for several fast food restaurants after school and for the outdoor drama Blue Jacket in her summers. Diana was social and friendly and had many friends among her peers and teachers-she was known for her fun loving spirit and infectious laugh and sense of humor. During her senior year, Diana worked in the Science lab at Central State University and continued in the capacity aster graduation and during her freshman year at CSU. Diana transferred to Sinclair Community College as a sophomore to continue her studies while working at the Dayton Daily Newspaper. Her ambition was to continue her studies in pre-vet at Ohio State University before an unfortunate car accident caused her to alter those plans. Diana would go on to do extensive traveling, visiting Australia, the Caribbean, living in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Hawaii, Kentucky, Montana, Arizona, and finally in Kenai, Alaska where she called home for 9 years. Whiloe living in Montana, diana met her husband. Together they traveled to southern Arizona to attend Cochise College, graduating with degrees in Aircraft Mechanics. With their interest in the outdoors and wildlife they took these new skills to Alaska to continue this adventure. Always a lover of animals and nature, Diana found the perfect place in Kenai, Alaska where her home was less than a mile from the mighty Kenai river and Cook Inlet. She loved the beauty of Alaska, the beauty, the mountains, the pristine forests, and new found fishing in the waters if the Kenai and Russian Rivers,
Diana found beauty and humor in all people and in all situations. She was a remarkable young women and a beautiful spirit. In her memory and spirit we award one deserving young woman a scholarship year year.
