As we look back at Emily and Cameron's journey together, it's a great reminder of why one-on-one training is such an important part of preparing for a Public Access Test.
A service dog team is just that—a team. While dogs must learn obedience, manners, and task work, the handler must also learn how to communicate effectively with their dog, read their dog's signals, and work confidently together in real-world situations.
One-on-one training allows the team to:

🐾 Practice skills in real-life environments
🐾 Learn how to navigate distractions together
🐾 Develop confidence as a working team
🐾 Fine-tune responses to the handler's individual needs

🐾 Socialization Matters! 🐾
While Van is not a service dog in training, his family is doing exactly what every puppy deserves—they are making sure he grows up to be a well-socialized, confident dog.
Socialization is about so much more than meeting people and other dogs. It's about safely introducing puppies to the world around them. New sights, sounds, smells, surfaces, environments, and experiences help puppies learn that the world is a safe and exciting place.
A well-socialized puppy is more likely to:
🐾 Be confident in new situations
🐾 Handle unexpected sights and sounds calmly
🐾 Enjoy visits to the veterinarian and groomer
🐾 Be a welcome companion in public places
🐾 Develop into a stable, happy adult dog
The socialization window during puppyhood is short, making these early experiences incredibly important. By taking the time to expose Van to the world in positive ways, his family is setting him up for a lifetime of success.

🏆🐾 Congratulations, Atlas! 🐾🏆

Our Service Dog in Training, Atlas, has earned his Rally Novice (RN) title! 🎉

This achievement represents many hours of training, teamwork, focus, and dedication. Rally asks dogs to navigate a course while performing obedience exercises, demonstrating not only their skills but also their ability to work closely with their handler.

Atlas approached the challenge with enthusiasm, intelligence, and his trademark willingness to learn. We couldn't be more proud of this smart young boy and all the hard work that went into reaching this milestone.

While titles are wonderful accomplishments, what makes us most proud is Atlas's love of learning and the strong foundation he is building for his future. Every success helps prepare him for the important work ahead.

Way to go, Atlas! We can't wait to see what you accomplish next. ❤️🐾

✨ Apollo, the Supermodel ✨
Apollo recently had his very own photo shoot, and all we can say is... WOW! 😍

This handsome boy knew exactly how to work the camera. From his beautiful expression to his stunning coat and confident presence, Apollo made every shot look effortless. Some dogs take pictures, but Apollo poses for them!

Beyond his good looks, Apollo continues to impress us with his intelligence, willingness to learn, and sweet personality. He is growing into a remarkable young dog, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for him.

For now, we're just enjoying these gorgeous photos and appreciating what a beautiful representative of the breed he is. ❤️🐾

🌟 Did You Know? 🌟
Many people know our Executive Training Director, Eleni, for her work training Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, and assistance dogs across the United States and Europe. But did you know she also works with pet dogs in the Los Angeles area?
One of the biggest challenges working Service Dogs face isn't the environment—it's encountering untrained pet dogs in public. Dogs that pull toward them, bark, lunge, or invade their space can distract a Service Dog from performing important tasks for their handler.

That's why Eleni is passionate about helping pet dogs become well-mannered canine citizens. Through training, she helps families build strong relationships with their dogs while teaching the skills needed to navigate the world politely and confidently.

A well-trained pet dog benefits everyone:

✨ Meet Minneapolis ✨
Not every puppy born into a breeding program is automatically destined to become part of that program. In fact, the opposite is true.

Minneapolis is one of the special puppies we are currently "growing out" and evaluating as a potential future breeding prospect. Growing out a puppy means giving them the time they need to mature physically and mentally before making any decisions about their future.

At eight weeks old, a puppy can be adorable, confident, and full of promise—but there is still so much left to learn. As they grow, we carefully evaluate structure, movement, health, intelligence, work ethic, trainability, confidence, resilience, and temperament. We want to see how they handle new environments, solve problems, interact with people, and navigate the world around them.

A responsible breeding program is never built on looks alone. The goal is to produce dogs who are sound in both body and mind. Dogs who can excel as companions, performance dogs, and service dogs. Dogs who possess the stable temperaments, intelligence, and health needed to thrive for years to come.
Sometimes a puppy who looked promising at eight weeks blossoms into exactly what we hoped for. Sometimes they tell us they would be happier in another role, and that's okay too. Every puppy deserves the opportunity to become who they are meant to be.

By taking the time to grow out and evaluate puppies like Minneapolis, we can make thoughtful decisions that strengthen future generations and continue improving the breed. The best breeding programs are built on patience, careful observation, and a commitment to always putting the dogs first.

For now, Minneapolis is busy doing what puppies do best—learning, growing, exploring, and showing us who they are becoming. And we can't wait to watch the journey unfold. ❤️🐾

🇺🇸🐾 Atlas, Spero, and Friends Take in the Memorial Day Parade 🐾🇺🇸

What better way to spend the day than watching a Memorial Day parade with friends?

For Atlas, Spero, and their training buddies, this wasn't just a fun outing—it was an incredible socialization opportunity. Parades expose young dogs to a wide variety of sights, sounds, and experiences they may encounter throughout their lives. Marching bands, cheering crowds, waving flags, children, bicycles, unusual costumes, and unexpected noises all help dogs learn to remain calm, confident, and focused in busy environments.

Positive experiences in places like this help build resilience and confidence. Rather than being overwhelmed by new situations, the dogs learn that the world is full of exciting things that can be safely explored with their handlers.

Socialization isn't just about meeting people and dogs. It's about teaching puppies and young dogs how to navigate life with confidence. Every parade, festival, store visit, and community event adds another layer to that foundation.
