Since 1933, Teamsters Local 170 has fought for working families across Central Massachusetts and beyond: the bus drivers who get our kids to school safely, the teacher aides in our classrooms, the police officers and firefighters who keep us safe, and the people who stock our grocery shelves, help build and maintain our roads, and keep our warehouses moving.

And they don't stop at the bargaining table. Their members run blood drives, fund scholarships for students, and show up for the community year after year.

I'm running to make sure that a lifetime of hard work means real security: good union jobs, fair wages, and a seat at the table for the people who keep our region running. Thank you Teamsters Union Local 170 for standing with me. I stand with you!

We will be participating in The Shrewsbury Street Italian Heritage Parade, this Sunday, October 11th at 12:00 PM. We will begin staging at 10:30 am somewhere between Aitchison Street and Franklin Street. Please consider walking with us, it should be a great day!! 🇮🇹 🎉

Another year of rain but that didn't stop us from having some fun! Thank you to all our golfers, sponsors and supporters who participated in our annual golf outing benefitting our scholarship fund. It was a great day!

On Tuesday 9/22 the newly organized Leicester DPW unanimously ratified their first agreement under the representation of Teamsters Local 170! This one year deal made huge strides to put these members in a competitive wage grid for the area, along with major langauge changes favoring the members, and increases in clothing allowance, paid time off, and other important issues for these employees. We are excited to continue these improvements in the upcoming negotiations, and proud to be representing these hard working DPW employees.

On September 10th, the members from Bimbo Bakery overwhelmingly ratified a new six (6) year agreement. The new agreement has numerous economic gains, including an increase in the member’s monthly Pension accrual, freezing the employee’s contributions towards the health insurance premiums at their current percentage rate for the life of the agreement, while also reducing those employees hired after 2014 contribution by six (6) percent, and a shortening of the progression period. Business Agent Sean Foley thanked Local 170 Secretary Treasurer Shannon George, Local 633 Secretary Treasurer Jeff Padellaro, and the rest of the negotiating committee for all the time and effort they put into the negotiations.

The walk will take place on Sunday September 27th beginning at 8:00 AM at Polar Park.

Members of Teamsters Locals 170 and 633 at Bimbo Bakeries have voted by an overwhelming 98 percent to authorize a strike. The more than 200 Teamsters in sales and warehousing work throughout New England. The overwhelming strike authorization comes after weeks of negotiations during which the company refused to offer area standards or real wage adjustments.

“We’re proud of the work we do for Bimbo and know that the work we do keeps these facilities running,” said Jason Morin, a shop steward at Bimbo Bakeries and member of Local 633. “We just want a contract that allows us to provide for our families. No one wants to strike, but we’re tired of management’s continued disrespect.”
