Great job!

Local conservationists say they’re hopeful that a new litter boom system will significantly reduce the amount of trash flowing into Pratt Dam. Read the article in The Valley Breeze Newspapers about the new litter trap installed near Sycamore Landing in Lincoln, RI. Save The Bay's Riverkeeper, Kate McPherson, was a part of the project, assisting in part with helping file a permit for Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management approval.

"I'm proud to be part of the WaterGoat project team. I've often seen trash floating down the Blackstone River and I've witnessed where all those plastic pieces end up- stuck in half submerged trees where painted turtles and great blue herons roost. The trash boom is a good way to catch some of that trash and keep it from fouling downstream habitat. It will be really interesting to see how much trash it captures over the course of a year." - McPherson
