Important Eagle Walk Reminder and Weather Update
Good Day Rising 9th Grade Parents,
We are excited to celebrate our 8th grade students tomorrow at the Eighth Grade Eagle Walk 2026, scheduled for Friday, May 22.
As a reminder, this is an outdoor event. At this time, the weather forecast is calling for the possibility of rain and thunderstorms. Unfortunately, E. T. Booth does not have the indoor facilities needed to safely host this event inside due to the large number of students, parents, and family members who traditionally attend.
Our goal is to honor and support this special tradition as much as possible; however, our first priority must always be the safety of our students, families, and staff.
We will make a final decision regarding the weather by 8:00 AM tomorrow morning and communicate whether we are able to proceed with the Eagle Walk as planned. We hope this timing will give families enough time to make any necessary adjustments. Please also understand that even if the event is not canceled in the morning, we may still need to cancel at the time of the walk if weather conditions become unsafe or are not conducive to holding the event outdoors.
At this time, please continue to plan for the schedule below unless you receive an update from us tomorrow morning.
Schedule of Events:
We will begin lining up our 8th grade students in our gym and lower halls at 12:00PM.
Parents, please park only in the designated areas and begin gathering in the staging area (marked on the map below) at around 11:55AM. Etowah will be dismissing their buses at this time. Be aware. DO NOT GET IN THE WAY OF THE ETOWAH BUSES and DO NOT ENTER THE ETOWAH LOT TO LINE UP PRIOR TO THEIR LAST BUS LEAVING. You may NOT park in their lot!
As soon as the last bus leaves the EHS parking lot (approximately 12:10PM), we will give parents a few minutes to line up along the Eagle Walk route.
At approximately 12:15PM teachers and students will begin the walk and end outside the EHS Band room at around 12:30PM
Afterwards, students whose parents completed the electronic checkout form (See below) will leave with their parents. Students riding the bus or car rider will return to the ETBMS gym.
Electronic Checkout: If you do intend to have your student leave with you, you must complete the electronic checkout form below by Wednesday, May 20. If this form is not completed by that date, your child cannot be checked-out from the ceremony at EHS and will need to go home via bus or car rider dismissal beginning at 12:45pm. Please note that this form is for 8th Grade Students only.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we monitor the weather. We are hopeful that we will be able to celebrate our students with this special tradition tomorrow, but we will make the safest decision possible.
