Woodbury Thrives

Woodbury Thrives Woodbury Thrives is aimed at improving the total health and wellness of our residents - mind, body and soul.

It is a program of the Woodbury Community Foundation developed in collaboration with 90 other organizations in Woodbury. Woodbury Thrives connects our community to inspire wellbeing for everyone! We are a community initiative aimed at improving the health of residents in the broadest of ways: physical health, spiritual and emotional well-being and financial health. Events and services will help r

esidents grow in health and financial literacy, improve healthy behaviors, and together promote Woodbury as a health and wellness community. The benefits will include healthier families, a more vibrant source of employees for economic development, and better access to services that help citizens adopt a lifestyle of health and well-being.

The City of Woodbury is again hosting an educational Juneteenth Trail Walk behind City Hall, with additional displays located near Colby Lake Park and Ojibway Park.

The holiday, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S., was first celebrated in 1865 and became a Minnesota state holiday in 2023. The trail walk will be available June 1-21 and offers community members an opportunity to learn more about the holiday and the history that led to June 19 being designated a state and federal holiday.

City offices will be closed Friday, June 19, in recognition of the Juneteenth holiday.

This morning we had a GREAT community engagement and planning meeting to help chart out the future of Woodbury Thrives! It was wonderful meeting long-time volunteers and those brand new to Thrives, with volunteers spanning 60 years - from high school students to retirees who have lived in Woodbury 50+ years! The energy in the room was palpable! Many many thanks to all who participated! We love being with people who want to make a healthier community for everyone!

If you're interested in working more in areas of environmental sustainability or mental health, please send an email to Simi Patnaik ([email protected]) or Roger Green ([email protected]). We will be working on these initiatives throughout the rest of 2026 and beyond!
