Village Players Fabulous community theater featuring live performances and special appearances https://www.village-players.com/

For forty years The Village Players have been entertaining with comedy, mysteries, song and dance, and plays that make you stop and think. Each year we present two or three plays, a full-scale musical and each month we show a classic movie. We're always happy to welcome new volunteers as actors, stage crew, costumers, front of house staff and more.

We were happy to host the Wolfeboro Heritage Awards at the theater last night. It made for a pretty interesting scene, with the award recipients standing in front of our set for “The Play That Goes Wrong!" It was wonderful to hear about the many creative and meaningful preservation projects people have taken on around Wolfeboro.

We’re looking for a wide range of possibilities—beloved classics, meaningful new works, laugh out loud comedies, and musicals you’d love to see brought to life on the Village Players stage. While many productions are proposed by directors (or come with one attached), we welcome ideas from anyone and can help connect them with the right production team.

Auditions for the riotous comedy "The Play That Goes Wrong" will take place Sunday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. and Monday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Players Theater, 51 Glendon St, Wolfeboro.

Veteran Village Players directors Russ Ellis and Jay Sydow encourage anyone eager to unleash their comedic talents to come audition for this summer’s production.

Hailed as one of the funniest plays you’ll ever see, "The Play That Goes Wrong" follows the Cornley University Drama Society as they attempt to stage The Murder at Haversham Manor. What begins with a few missing props and forgotten lines quickly spirals into complete chaos, as the cast and crew battle collapsing scenery, mounting mishaps, and theatrical mayhem—while desperately trying to keep the show on track.
