Be Humble

God tells us to be humble.
11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.

Often we define humility as the opposite of Pride,
thinking more of our accomplishments than our relationship
with God.

Holman Bible Dictionary says humility is to recognize
our dependence on God and respect for other persons.
It is “Discovering God”. Discovering that God is our Creator
and that we are His creation. Humility is to acknowledge
that we are the created not the Creator; we are the servant,
not the Master.

Rick Warren states that “humility” is being teachable.
Are you teachable? Are you willing to learn?
To change your life?

Humility, the first step to wisdom, is to acknowledge
our dependence on God and to be teachable.

"Be Humble Be Understanding Ask Forgiveness
Be Honest Be Trustworthy Be Generous
Have Integrity Be Wary Be Fruitful
Be Righteous Be Kindhearted Trust God

The first four is your relationship to self;
the second four your relationship to others.
The final four is your relationship to God.

Purpose of Life
I love the Bible because it is the Instruction Manual for Life. The Book of Proverbs is the mini-instruction manual; reading one Chapter a day strengthens me for my purpose here on earth.

To the men who study God's WORD -

I am a disrupter and now I want to disrupt your life. I ask that you accept the challenge of reading a chapter in Proverbs each day in 2021. Yesterday is the 1st day of the month, you read Chapter 1; today Chapter 2. In 2021, you will have read Proverbs 12 times. It will change your life. Guaranteed. Less than 5 minutes to read; but ages to absorb.

Proverbs is life’s mini-instruction manual, filled with truths. Truths that have been abandoned in today’s culture. Yet were understood by our Founding Fathers and all the Jews who became Christ followers. They were foundational.

When Satan deceived Eve, she saw the tree of knowledge of good and evil as “desirable for obtaining wisdom.” (Genesis 3:6) She desired wisdom. Yet, wisdom today is freely offered and few seek it. I have been reading Proverbs daily since 2006-2007.

Each day, I text my children and grandchildren a verse(s) to build them up. I also include that verse as a tagline for my personal emails (www.ProverbsMen.org) and business emails (www.EVAmerica.com) as shown below.

Yesterdays’ verses were:

"Wisdom calls out in the street,
she raises her voice....."
"..whoever listens to me will live securely,
and be free from the fear of danger." Proverbs 1:20, 33

Proverbs has more than 100 Promises, just like the verse above. All Scripture is God – breathed (2 Timothy 3:16) so just as John 3:16 is a promise, so Proverbs 1:33 is a similar promise. Same author.

In conclusion, I pray that you will accept my offer, my disruption. Meanwhile….
