The ministry was created to help successfully move people forward from homelessness towards a life of independence and self sustainability. Matthew's Hope is a ministry first and foremost demonstrating the love, hope, grace and mercy of Jesus Christ in all we do; and a facilitator of opportunity to those who choose to move forward toward a life of independence and self sustainability. It all began

with a "Freeze Warning" Shelter offering the homeless a place to escape the cold when temperatures dropped to dangerous lows. Matthew's Hope has now has expanded to offer many services to the Homeless of our Community to include everything from basic services such as showers, haircuts and laundry, to Medical Care, a Montessori Preschool & Daycare, Transitional Housing and our Matthew's Hope Chest Workshop & Store. From now until June 30th - We’re looking for 250 individuals or organizations to join us in our fight against homelessness.

In this week's episode of Straight Talk, No B.S. with Matthew’s Hope, presented by Imagine Marketing, Pastor Scott, Shelley and Tracy are joined by Reverend Mary Downey who is the Founder and CEO of Hope Partnership and is currently running for Osceola County Commissioner District 4.

Mary discussed the role of the Church in addresses social issues like poverty and homelessness and points out where she feels they are falling short. She also details the mission of the Hope Partnership and stresses the importance of dignity and love in all they do. Each week, Pastor Scott, Shelley and guests share their experiences from operating a homeless outreach in Florida's Orange and Brevard Counties to raise awareness and tackle some of the biggest misconceptions surrounding the homeless crisis in America today.

Even during extreme heat, our Mobile Teams are out early caring for the homeless men, women and children of our entire community every Monday and Wednesday throughout West Orange and South Lake counties.

We look to encourage with each soul we encounter to catch our transport buses into our Outreach Center for additional services such as hearty fresh cooked meals, showers, haircuts, laundry service, medical assistance, mental health care and so much more. We walk with them daily to move them forward towards a life of independence and self sustainability, and for others, we do whatever we can to make their life on the streets more bearable.

We had an elderly female guest believed to be having a heart attack at our Brevard Outreach Center who refused to be taken to the hospital as she feared the expense of the hospital bill more than she feared dying on our streets!

Something is very wrong with who we have become as a nation. Our doors are flooding with newly homeless Baby Boomers, many of them navigating various health issues, and then there is the flood of children under the age of 18. So sad… 😞
