Today, the Wounded Warrior Outdoors family remembers and celebrates the birthday of our founder, Ron Raboud.

Ron founded WWO in 2006 with a simple mission: get wounded warriors back outdoors and give them the opportunity to experience the healing, camaraderie, and friendships that come from being together in the field.

Since then, WWO has helped create countless outdoor experiences for wounded warriors, supported hundreds of adventures, and brought together warriors, volunteers, guides, and supporters across the country. Every trip represents an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen connections, and continue the healing journey outdoors.

Although Ron is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through every warrior, volunteer, supporter, and adventure made possible through WWO. What he started continues to change lives, and we are proud to carry his vision forward.

Happy Birthday, Ron. We miss you, brother, and we’ll continue the mission you started.

Today, on National Purple Heart Day, we honor the men and women who were wounded or gave their lives in service to our country.

The Purple Heart is more than a medal. It represents sacrifice, courage, and a price paid in defense of this nation that can never truly be repaid.

For many, the wounds are visible. For others, they are carried quietly every day. And behind every Purple Heart recipient is a family that has sacrificed alongside them.

Today we remember those who never made it home, honor those who did, and recognize every Purple Heart recipient who carries the lasting reminders of their service.

Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸💜

This weekend was a powerful reminder of what happens when veterans continue serving long after they take off the uniform.
We are incredibly grateful to Jon Schumacher and the Cpl. Jon Schumacher Foundation for their generous donation of over $50,000 to Wounded Warrior Outdoors. This incredible gift will directly impact the lives of the warriors we serve by helping provide life-changing hunting and fishing adventures, camaraderie, healing, and hope.
What makes this even more meaningful is that Jon isn’t just a donor, he’s family. Jon is a Wounded Warrior Outdoors Warrior who has been on several trips with us over the years. He knows firsthand the impact these experiences have, and now he’s giving back in an incredible way so other warriors can experience that same healing.
A huge thank you also goes out to the WWO Warriors who showed up to represent our organization. Your professionalism, humility, and willingness to share your stories are what make WWO so special. You represented our mission with pride, and we’re honored to stand beside each of you.
Together, we’re proving that healing doesn’t end with one adventure—it continues as warriors lift up other warriors.

Happy Father’s Day from Wounded Warrior Outdoors

Today we honor all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures who have answered the call to lead, protect, and provide for their families.

We are especially grateful for the warrior dads in our WWO family. Whether serving our nation, supporting their families through challenges, or creating lasting memories in the outdoors, these men continue to demonstrate strength, sacrifice, and dedication every day.

Fatherhood isn’t measured by perfection—it’s measured by showing up, setting an example, and being there when it matters most.

To all the dads spending time with family today, we thank you for the impact you make on the next generation.

🏆 Big Fish Winner! 🏆

Congratulations to our biggest fish winner of the trip! With an impressive 110-pound halibut, he earned the honor of taking home the custom Wounded Warrior Outdoors Winkler Knife.

The competition was tough, but this fish stood above the rest. A well-deserved win and a memory that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this Alaska adventure possible. The fishing, fellowship, and stories shared around the fire are what WWO is all about.

Every Warrior is headed home with fish in the cooler!

The final fish count is in, and every Warrior on this trip will be bringing home fresh Alaska seafood to share with family and friends. From salmon to halibut—including a few giants over the 100-pound mark—it was an incredible few days on the water.

The fish are impressive, but the real success of this trip was the fellowship, laughter, stories shared, and memories made. Watching these Warriors enjoy the beauty of Alaska, support one another, and experience everything Kingfisher Lodge has to offer is what it’s all about.

A huge thank you to Chuck, Jeanette, the guides, and the entire Kingfisher Lodge family for another unforgettable adventure. Because of your generosity and patriotism, our Warriors are heading home with coolers full of fish and hearts full of memories.

Day 3 and the final day of fishing is complete!

What a way to wrap up an incredible week at Kingfisher Lodge. We were treated to beautiful weather, calm water, and some outstanding fishing. A few monster halibut topped the 100-pound mark, and the smiles on the dock said it all.

More than the fish, this trip was about fellowship, healing, laughter, and making memories with an amazing group of Warriors. Thank you to Chuck, Jeanette, and the entire Kingfisher Lodge family for their hospitality and unwavering support of our nation’s veterans.

Three days on the water, countless memories made, and another successful Wounded Warrior Outdoors adventure in the books.
