Relax, have a blast and learn some new moo-ves during this instructor led dancing event with the team at Social Graces Ballroom Dance Studios !🎉 We'll have music, a portable dance floor and many cute rescued goat faces!

Remember Blossom and her two little chicks rescued during the Apple Blossom festival this spring? Well, those little apples have grown up into teenagers! One is becoming a handsome rooster learning to crow and the other a white hen.

Cattle are amazing, highly social, emotional, intelligent animals who each have a unique personality. They form strong bonds with each other and rely on one another for emotional support. When bothered by flies or mosquitoes, they'll stand together nose to tail so that they work together in cooperation, understanding that helping your neighbor means helping yourself! On this special day Auggie, Jake, Marley, Rory and Watson as well as everyone at PFS asks you to think of cows and the cruelty they face in agriculture- ditch dairy and beef!
Animal agriculture kills male calves after they're born on dairy farms. Animal agriculture keeps cattle confined in overcrowded & unsanitary conditions requiring constant mass antibiotic treatments. Animal agriculture continually keeps cows pregnant via forced artificial insemination for dairy. Animal agriculture performs painful procedures like castration, dehorning, nose rings without pain management drugs.

Many people have reached out to the Shenandoah County Fair Board asking them to stop their outdated cruel pig scramble. Many are met with silence and the fair continues to hold one of the most unfair and egregious contests. Where's the empathy? Compassion?

What if these pigs were dogs? Dogs feel pain and fear like pigs and people. We all want love, respect, and safety. We want the same things. These pigs (prey animals) are put into a heightened state of panic as they attempt to avoid being captured and dragged by 3-8-year-olds as adults and others look on.

When we have more information, we have the opportunity to make kinder choices with our time and money. The petition lists many kinder more inclusive alternatives such as a talent show, bingo, relay races, karaoke contest, corn shucking contest and the list goes on.

Unnecessarily chasing, terrifying, and dragging pigs in a contest shouldn't be controversial. It just shouldn't happen.

Please come to a protest and/or sign the petition! Animals matter. Kindness matters.
