FROM SRI LANKA TO AMERICA — STORIES THAT SHAPED US. 🇱🇰🇺🇸❤️

Some stories are not easy to tell. Some memories never leave you. But I have always believed that even the most difficult chapters of our lives can teach us something about resilience, hope, and the power of humanity.

Growing up during Sri Lanka’s years of conflict, I witnessed fear, uncertainty, loss, and the struggles that so many families experienced. But somewhere along the way, I also learnt to laugh, to find happiness in the smallest things, and to believe that life always gives us a reason to keep going.

This November, I am taking my story to America!

For the first time, I will be sharing my personal journey with audiences in New York and Los Angeles through a special storytelling experience, Danu Live in America – Stories That Shaped Us.

This is not stand-up comedy. It is something far more personal. An evening of memories, laughter, a few tears, some uncomfortable truths, and hopefully a whole lot of inspiration.

What makes this journey even more meaningful is the purpose behind it.

I am honoured to be volunteering my time and lending my voice to support Global Unites, an incredible movement working to empower young leaders to build bridges across communities divided by conflict, ethnicity, religion, and history.

Through these fundraising evenings, we hope to support upcoming youth leadership and peacebuilding conferences in Sri Lanka, Liberia, Uganda, Nepal, and Kenya.

Having grown up in a country divided by war, I know how important it is to give the next generation a chance to grow up without inheriting the hatred and divisions of the past.

If sharing my little story can help create opportunities for young people to build a more peaceful future, then every memory I revisit and every laugh we share will be worth it.
