UPDATE: ADOPTED!
Hi! My name is Percy 🐾
I’m a male Black Labrador Retriever with a goofy, playful personality and a serious love for cuddles. I was born on February 27, 2025, and have spent most of my life training to become a service dog. During that time, I’ve logged more than 1,120 hours of training and built a strong foundation of skills, routines, and good manners.
Even though I’ve worked hard and learned a lot, service work is not the right long-term fit for me. I was released from the program after showing concerning behavior toward another dog. While I have generally done well around other dogs, the concerns appear to be related to food or resources.
What this really means is that I’m looking for a home where I can focus on being a very loved pet! An only-dog home would be the best fit for me. I have also been around cats and am interested in them, so any introductions to cats should be handled thoughtfully.
I’m a medium-energy guy who loves playing in water, fetching, and going for walks. After, I settle down nicely and am more than happy to cuddle. One of my favorite things to do on walks is carry my own leash in my mouth while making noises along the way. I like to make sure everyone knows I’m having a good time!
I am crate trained, potty trained, comfortable riding in the car, and walk nicely on the left side. I also know my basic commands, including sit, down, stay, wait, and come. I do well with adults, older kids, and new people.
I am heartworm negative, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and veterinary exams, neutered, have received my OFA certifications, and receive monthly preventatives. I currently have no known medical concerns.
A Change of Career Adoption Application is required to schedule a meet-and-greet with me. My adoption fee is $3,500. You can click the link in our bio for the application and send it to [email protected].
I hope to meet you soon! 🐾
