For as little as .33 a day you can make the biggest difference! On the 10th of each month choose a charity and donate $10, it is that simple. By not buying a few beers...two packs of smokes...eating out for lunch one day, etc. A small sacrifice made will have an impact on so many people. Think about it... $10 a month, every month...and WE ALL DO IT... Imagine what we could accomplish. We could fi

nd cures, change lives and most importantly, feel good about ourselves for helping others.

*About Ten on Ten...
Ten on Ten is a charitable organization created to inspire giving amongst people who believe that small actions from the heart can make a big difference. The idea behind Ten on Ten is that we all have something to give, and in a fast paced world, a concept with a gentle reminder is all it takes to make the world a better place, and use our gifts & talents to help others. We want to inspire and share the amazing things that can happen when everyone gives their Ten every month. What's your Ten? Is it $10 to a charity, 10% of your income or bonus, 10 hours of time volunteering, 10 meals delivered to the homeless or 10 items donated to a shelter? Let your heart guide you, and we will help to inspire you along the way. On the 10th of the month, give your Ten. And so will we.

Happy TEN ON TEN day!!! Every month on the 10th we send a simple reminder to
What is Ten on Ten? It is simple... Take 10 minutes and do something great for a stranger... Take 10 minutes to write a letter to a loved one... Donate $10 to your favorite charity. Click the link to learn more about our simple idea that could change the world! :) *bit dramatic but ya know!

Why do I do this every month? I just believe if we all did something small it would add up to amazing things! Try to be the solution instead of complaining about the world.

Obviously right now there are a few places to consider... Camp Mystic and all those who serve them. World Central Kitchen United Cajun Navy Operation Airdrop to name a few.
We also have a few boots on the ground and as of today have sent over $1300 to help in the recovery efforts in Texas.
Please consider helping. Your $10 buck will go a long way!

You all are trying to make me a country fan!!! Thank you Luke Combs and all your peers!
Every clip I see about this concert gets my emotions all crazy! What a beautiful thing was done to help those in the mountains!
I have to say, WE THE PEOPLE OF THE GREAT USA helped in ways I hadn't seen before. EVERYONE seemed to be doing something AND STILL DOING IT!

I am still accepting porch drop off at 511 North 5th Ave and have a few trucks leaving this week so drop off any time.
This list from BeLoved Asheville is a good guide. NO CLOTHES PLEASE. But anything for babies, camping, cleaning and rebuilding will be accepted. VENMO in the comments if you want to just give a few bucks.
Let's not forget them...this is a marathon not a sprint.
Please and thank you!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - After raising $24.5 million for victims of Helene in the Carolinas, country music star Luke Combs is calling Concert for Carolina the proudest moment of his career.

“My goodness, what a night!” he posted on Instagram. “This will undoubtedly go down as the night I am most proud of in my career. Being able to give back to the place that gave me so much.”

Combs, a Charlotte-area native who went to high school in Asheville and attended Appalachian State University, organized the packed-out benefit concert that was held Saturday night at Bank of America Stadium.

He and Eric Church headlined the concert along with fellow North Carolinians Scotty McCreery, Chase Rice, Parmalee, the Avett Brothers and James Taylor. Other big names including Keith Urban, Bailey Zimmerman and Sheryl Crow also took the stage.

I want to give you a quick timeline of how things ended up the way they did.
I am blessed beyond measure for these two ladies.
I met Katrina Wojtasinski Sept. 29th around 11am. She just happened to hear I was doing a supply drive and wanted to come meet me and hear more about what I had planned. Since I had an event that (hi Dana Sanantonio) day I asked her to step outside for a quick chat. Within about 3 minutes our talk ended, we hugged, said "I love you." As I walked inside I was like...what the heck just happened?
The next day Sept. 30th was the start of the donation drive. In comes Marissa Hartwell, a quiet but motivated young lady that wanted to help. I gave her the lowdown on the room etc and she went to work.
Clearly I was meant to meet these two. After a few meeting of the minds out back the term/organization Operation DAVID was discussed and put into action. This would have been maybe Oct. 3rd. I put in a request to change the name of my old volunteer/relief page to the new one and yesterday Oct. 9th Operation DAVID had a page and we were ready to move forward. It takes all kinds of personalities to pull off a donation drive. Someone has to be a presence on social media, someone has to have great organizing skills and someone has to have the ability to reach out and connect like minded people to coordinate efforts.
In 10 days we were able to link up with dudes on the ground in many parts of the mountains, link up with helicopter pilots that wanted to transport medical supplies and thank goodness for finding a relationship with the AMAZING folks at MegaCorp Logistics! TEN days all that came together.
We (as in our team, EVERYONE IN WILMINGTON that dropped off at Belle Vue Wilmington or went directly to MC) ended up helping load a jet plane, two helicopters and as of yesterday ELEVEN 53 foot Semi Trucks and I am proud to say every donation is already being shared to our neighbors in WNC.

As the day ended yesterday I wanted to take our team inside MC to just look around, shake hands and thank people who were graciously accepting our help. As we kept talking I asked where this round of supplies were going and Ross mentioned he had a group on the ground in Swannanoa that he was sending this truck to and said the group was called...drum roll please... Operation DAVID!
Kat, Marissa and I stepped back a sec and said you are doing what? We were told again, the supplies were in part going to a group of guys that WE have been coordinating with for a week!
It was one of those moments you just stand back and look up and say thanks! God put the three of us together and at that very second I knew WHY he picked us.

Today is day 11 since we started and I have to love on all you guys for your support. Volunteers came out of no where, people brought food and snacks (beer and mimosas), our venmo account was increasing, donations kept piling in...there are too many of you to thank but you know who you are.

We are taking this week off from collecting at Belle BUT that doesn't mean we want you to stop collecting items to donate. We will start utilizing the Badger Box Mobile Storage and continue to help those in need. I am currently looking for a warehouse/or house downtown (anyone have connections to the white house next to Belle or the closed down mini mart behind Brunch Thyme)? A place that we can have an office where we can effectively run our operations year round, you know, be the Nourish NC of disaster relief...that is how I best describe it. Nourish is one of my favorites in town and are highly organized and ready at a moments notice...I want that to be US!

So, long story short... I met two gals who came in guns blaring wanting to help. We created an organization (looking for someone to help with out non profit status if any lawyer friends want to do a good deed for our community), became best buds, met boots on the ground, and with the amazing help of MC GOT THOSE SUPPLIES to the exact people we have been working with in the mountains...all in 11 days. I don't know about you but I want to see what we can do in 11 months, 11 years etc.
Just love my new family on the board for DAVID and all the volunteers, FB sharers and people who donated supplies, time and money!
Wilmington, stand up and give yourself a pat on the back.

There are some really great groups still collecting so feel free to reach out if you need connections. I believe this Sunday there are a bunch of restaurants combining forces with The Eagles Dare from 2-8pm to support the service industry in WNC that is out of work (for more info on that look at their FB page).
Anyone have an operation going feel free to DM me and I can shout it out when people ask!

Everyone in this town seems to be doing something and that is amazing!

With all my love Katrina and Marissa, THANKS!
Now...let's get to work shall we!!!

I know things are crazy right now. But I have a roof over my head, food in the fridge, two amazing pups wandering in the yard and I am healthy! I am overwhelmed by what is going on in the world. BUT you know what? We can help! I am here to encourage and inspire you to ALL donate $10... I have 4998 friends on FB and if each of them gave $10 to World Central Kitchen IMAGINE what we can do. What if all of YOUR friends did the same!
WCK is doing amazing things in this most hectic of times!
So give up that cup of coffee or beer and help feed over 1.5 million people who have left Ukraine!

We have one heck of a special community when it comes to giving back to those who need us the most.
March 29th, there will be a photo fundraiser in support of Ukraine at Belle Vue Wilmington. The photo shoot will be 10am-7pm with 15 minute sessions and you will get 3-10 high resolution digital downloads in exchange for your donation to World Central Kitchen.
We had the goal in mind that we wanted to reach for the beautiful people of Ukraine within these two days, but then we thought… “WHY STOP THERE!? Why not go into this fundraiser with no monetary number in mind and let’s prove just how strong and supportive our community is when it comes to humankind!”
In addition to this fundraiser, all during the month of March, select restaurants and bars will be donating a percentage to World Central Kitchen and other charities that are helping in Ukraine while they fight to survive.
If anyone wants to get involved more closely with this charitable benefit, please reach out to me for more information.
Can you help? Thank you!
