We're excited to share that Westfield has scored a 36 in PeopleForBikes.org 2026 City Ratings! Westfield ranked #30 in Massachusetts and #1 in the Pioneer Valley!

The average score in the U.S. is also 36. Westfield's score has improved over time, starting at 13 in 2022 and reaching 28 last year.

These ratings measure the quality and connectedness of a city's bike network — the system of protected bike lanes, off-street paths, slow shared streets, and safe crossings that enables people to comfortably bike around a city.

Westfield's improvements are due to the significant investments in infrastructure and policy that make it safer and easier than ever to get around the city by bike.

What a fun time we had at our first ever Children's Bike Parade!
Thank you to all the kids and parents who joined the parade along the new Westfield River Levee Path between the Westfield River Elementary School and the Westfield River Esplanade.
Special thank you to Officer Blascak from the Westfield Police Department for riding with us on the police e-bike, to Carol from the Westfield Museum Inc. for providing water, and to all of our amazing volunteers for pulling off a wonderful event!

Tonight's the night!
Join City staff and consultants to learn all about Westfield’s Safety Action Plan! The plan lays out strategies to reduce, and ultimately eliminate, serious injuries and fatalities on our streets.
This will be the public’s final opportunity to weigh in on the plan before it gets finalized later this spring. With many recommendations related to roadway design, city policy, emergency response, enforcement, and more, there’s a lot to learn - and we want your feedback.
We will meet on Zoom (the link is on this page: http://arcg.is/HvTrq1) starting at 7 pm on Thursday, May 28 – see you there!

Is your bike ready to go for the Mayor's Ride tomorrow?!
Join us and Mayor Mike McCabe, City of Westfield on a ride through Westfield and on the Columbia Greenway! The ride leaves from Westfield City Hall shortly after 5:30pm this Tuesday 5/19.

Local ice cream extraordinaire Northside Creamery will be serving scoops at the finish, and ValleyBike will join us for the first time with information about our local bikeshare system! They will also bring some demo bikes to try out!
