This week is National Groundwater Awareness Week. The City of Westfield, MA has eight groundwater wells and several dozen private wells. MassDEP regulates municipal well issues, and the Dept of Public Health is in charge of private well issues.

On the evening of February 22, 2017, a group of friends, family, and neighbors decided to form an ad-hoc community group to help learn more about the PFAS contamination of our aquifer and do something to help their community members.
They named it WRAFT, Westfield Residents Advocating For Themselves.
