SERVISTAR DATA CENTER UPDATE!

The City of Westfield Planning Board met via zoom at 6pm tonight.
First, they suspended Public Participation unanimously.

They then allowed Paul Corey of Servistar Realties LLC to present an overview of their project and their request for permit extension.

The Board members asked many thorough and thoughtful questions. After about 2 hours, they motioned to deny the permit extension request for lack of "good cause".
The vote was unanimous to DENY the Servistar Realties LLC Data Center special permit renewal request.

Thank you to EVERYONE working on this issue.

We anticipate the Applicant may appeal. Stay Tuned.

HEADS UP WESTFIELD!
At the 10/6 Planning Board Meeting, the Board discussed having a Special Meeting next week, Tuesday, October 13th, at 6pm via Zoom to discuss the Servistar Realties request for permit extension.

Remember:
- As an administrative proceeding, they will allow the Applicant to present their request and the Board will deliberate and vote on the request for permit extension.
- Because this would be a Special Meeting, NO PUBLIC PARTICIPATION WILL BE ALLOWED UNLESS THE BOARD MOTIONS AND VOTES TO ALLOW IT.
- If there is anything you want to say to the Board, email them prior to the 13th.
- We will post that agenda and zoom link on our website and on social media as soon as it is posted.

About a week ago, we were alerted that members of local trade unions had been asked to attend the Sept 15th Westfield Planning Board meeting to support a request from Servistar Realties, LLC and/or Servistar DC, LLC to extend their 2021 Special Permit.

We respect the union members and the work they do; and we appreciate that they need to feed their families.

That said,
our families live in a bowl-shaped City atop our own drinking water. We need to protect our Article 97 MA Constitution rights "to clean air and water, freedom from excessive and unnecessary noise, and the natural, scenic, historic, and esthetic qualities of their environment" not to mention our electric grid and access.
