The grant will support a trauma-informed Rooted job coach providing holistic training and one-on-one coaching at The House of Mercy and The Village housing complex—helping reduce barriers to employment and education while expanding opportunities for women, children and families in Central Iowa. TCI awarded a $150,000 Strengthening Families and Communities grant to Servicios de La Raza to support culturally responsive care and improve maternal health outcomes for Latina women in Colorado. This funding will support efforts to train Spanish-speaking Promotoras (community health workers), provide screenings for pregnant women, and offer home monitoring for those at higher risk — helping reduce hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and build a scalable model to impact more women. Telligen Community Initiative's Synergy Center - located in Des Moines, Iowa - provides a shared office space for health-related nonprofits addressing social drivers of health. For more than a decade, TCI has funded the collaborative environment that helps small-staffed non-profits foster new relationships, which leads to knowledge-sharing and advancing their respective missions. TCI provides all operational costs of the space, allowing nonprofits to focus on advancing their important missions. Demonstrating that we are stronger together, the Synergy Center currently houses 12 organizations.
