With a $100,000 grant from TCI's Strengthening Families and Communities program, Community Roots Midwife Collective is expanding access to culturally responsive midwifery care for underserved families. This funding will support sliding-scale prenatal, birth and newborn care that integrates Indigenous ceremony, traditional healing, and trauma-informed, gender-inclusive services — helping ensure safe, dignified birth experiences and improved maternal and infant health outcomes. With a $149,730 grant from our Strengthening Families and Communities program, the Family Planning Council of Iowa is expanding access to essential health resources in low-resource communities across Iowa. This funding will support six public health vending machines offering free, 24/7 access to items like condoms, emergency contraception, period products, Opill and Narcan—helping reduce barriers and close gaps in care.
