North Carolina loses an average of 723 babies to stillbirth every year. Thanks to Cardinal & Pine for discussing how the BUMP Act makes it possible for North Carolina families to receive clear, consistent information on warning signs and fetal movement, while also improving provider response and prioritizing communities facing the greatest risks and disparities.

Ask Congress to provide $1 million to HRSA to help states implement stillbirth prevention initiatives. Lend your voice to help save lives!

This targeted investment will help HRSA:
Support state-led stillbirth prevention initiatives
Expand access to screening tools and educational resources
Integrate prevention strategies into existing maternal care systems
Identify gaps and strengthen response to stillbirth

With modest funding, we can accelerate progress, equip states with the tools they need, and help save lives.

ℹ️ The Health Resources and Services Administration, a key federal agency, provides programs that deliver healthcare to people who are geographically isolated or economically or medically vulnerable.

Join this urgent call to action by contacting your U.S. Representative and Senators today! Urge them to support expanded stillbirth prevention funding for the Health Resources and Services Administration.

A healthy placenta helps support a healthy pregnancy.

Placental complications can affect how much oxygen and nutrients reach a baby, which is why monitoring your baby’s movements matters. Babies often respond to changes in their environment before tests can detect a problem.

Stillbirth prevention starts with awareness — awareness of movement patterns, maternal warning signs, and the importance of trusting your instincts when something feels different.

Check out our friends over at Measure the Placenta for placenta resources and research.

There are an average of 745 stillbirths in Ohio each year.

In 2018 the Count the Kicks program expanded into Ohio through a partnership with the Ohio Department of Health. UnitedHealthcare has been a significant partner in improving birth outcomes with us in Ohio since 2022.

Since our program expanded to Ohio, we have heard from five Ohio families who credit Count the Kicks with helping their baby have a safe arrival! We are actively working to save more lives in Ohio, with the ultimate goal of helping communities drive down the stillbirth rate.
