This is not a normal year for the Greater Hartford Jewish Community—but our community has never backed down.

For every challenge we face, Federation has a program and a plan.

We’re reconnecting young adults through Emerging Leadership, strengthening safety and alliances to fight antisemitism, training the next generation of leaders through our Jewish Leadership Academy, and welcoming new families through “Good. Great. Greater Hartford."

None of this happens without you. Help us reach $500,000 by June 30. Donate now: https://www.jewishhartford.org/answerthecall

Bridging continents through creativity!

This year, 5th and 6th graders at Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford connected with peers in Israel through a virtual visit to the משכן לאמנות עין חרוד. Mishkan Museum of Art, Ein Harod.

Inspired by what they saw, students exchanged creative Hebrew letter artwork and holiday tablescapes, celebrating culture, creativity, and friendship across continents. Their Hebrew letter art was even featured in the Mishkan’s virtual museum gallery!

Who knew learning and friendship could be this much fun?

“Rabbi Lazowski carried the weight of history with extraordinary grace ... For decades, he reminded us that memory must lead to action, that faith can survive even the darkest moments, and that one person can make a profound difference in the world.” David Waren, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford.

We honor the life and legacy of Rabbi Lazowski, a Holocaust survivor who dedicated his life to teaching, healing, and building community.

May his memory be a blessing.

This Shabbat, we recognize Juneteenth and recommit to the sacred work of pursuing justice and freedom for all. The Jewish value of “tzedek, tzedek tirdof” (justice, justice you shall pursue) calls on us to build communities rooted in equity, dignity, and justice for everyone. Shabbat Shalom.

The numbers don’t lie: 1 in 4 Americans raised Jewishly no longer identify as Jewish. But Federation’s Emerging Leadership program is changing that by connecting our young people to each other—and their Jewishness.

Help us reach the next generation; give today toward our goal of $500,000 by June 30. Your gift makes all the difference. Donate today: https://www.jewishhartford.org/juneemergingleaders
