The Lillian Fund of the Jewish Community Foundation The Lillian Fund, a giving circle of women at the Jewish Community Foundation, empowers women and children to pursue personal and professional opportunities.

Our grants support nonprofits in Greater Hartford and in Israel. To recognize Lillian Wald's extraordinary accomplishments and honor her spirit of service to women and the community at large, in 1999 the Jewish Community Foundation established the Lillian Fund. The purpose of the Lillian Fund is best described as "Women Helping Women." Funds raised support programming, both locally and in Israel, that critically impact the lives of women and children. Through the support of our Lillian Fund donors, the Foundation is helping make a significant difference in the lives of women and children in so many ways. It is helping them become strong and independent business women, enabling them to provide for themselves and their families; it is giving needed support during times of stress; it is teaching life skills which will allow them to survive in today's changing world; and it is providing support for diverse populations of women and children who may not find the help they need elsewhere. The beauty of the Lillian Fund is that anyone can participate. No gift is too small and each dollar added to the endowment can make a huge difference! If you make a donation of just $100, you can vote on which project to support the year the gift is made. Or, you may designate someone else to vote and give them the opportunity to begin making a difference in the lives of women and children. Women helping women - it's a concept we understand and believe in.
