Muller Fasching Verein Milwaukee The Muller Fasching Verein Nordamerika Inc. were founded on January 23, 1996 in Germantown, Wisconsin This group is the first of its kind in North America.

The Mullers are a non-profit organization founded on January 23, 1996 in Germantown, Wisconsin. The Mullers purpose is to educate people in the United States of their Tyrolean (Austrian) folk customs. The Muller Fasching Verein is proud of what it has accomplished over the years. We are not only the first club of its kind in North America, but we have successfully brought the customs of the Muller

s across the Atlantic where this unique type of dancing can be shared with a whole new audience. We would like to thank our Tyrolean friends for their support in our efforts to educate the people of the United States in their great customs.

On the first day of spring we shout out to our Halbweisse, The Halbweisse symbolizes the much longed-for season of Spring.

His mask and head dress symbolize those of the Melcher, but instead of a ‘lederhose’, he wears long, white, embroidered pants. The pants are embroidered with small, round, colorful, embroidered patches, with colorful edging and tiny bells.

The Halbweisse holds a willow switch in his hands. He uses this to catch the spectators and give them a ‘Mullerschlag’ (Muller tap).

The Halbweisse is the most agile character of them all. He hops up and down on both legs, or bounces from one leg to the other. He also jumps over his willow switch like a jump rope.

What a wonderful Valentines Day! With the popularity of the kissing booth today, I think our Hexen are going to bring it back on Tuesday! Be sure to join Spielmannszug Milwaukee, Rheinischer Verein, and us, the Milwaukee Mullers, as we celebrate Fat Tuesday, this Tuesday and the end the Fasching/Mardi Gras season with a bang!
