Wisconsin Homeless Veterans Initiative

At our recent Bikes for Stripes event, many veterans received umbrellas that will help them navigate Wisconsin’s unpredictable weather year-round.

We would like to extend a special thank you to American Legion Post 294 and Commander Mark Pape for their incredible generosity and support.

Through this partnership, 1,479 umbrellas valued at $21,375 have been made available to veterans in our community. Many of these umbrellas were distributed during our 9th Annual Bikes for Stripes Resource Fair, where they were gratefully received by veterans and their families.

It’s often the simple necessities that make the biggest difference. These umbrellas provide protection from the elements, but more importantly, they serve as a reminder that our veterans are supported by a community that cares.

Thank you, Commander Pape and American Legion Post 294, for helping us continue our mission of serving those who have served our nation.

We want to send a heartfelt thank you to Forward Please Project and everyone who helped make their Spring Golf Outing such a success.

Because of the generosity of their golfers, sponsors, raffle donors, volunteers, and supporters, WHVI received an incredible donation of **$8,500** to help continue serving veterans across Wisconsin.

It was an honor to be part of the event and share more about our mission with those in attendance. Seeing so many people come together to support veterans is a powerful reminder that our community truly cares.

We are especially grateful to the entire Forward Please Project team for choosing WHVI as one of this year's beneficiaries. Your support will help us continue providing resources, connections, and hope to veterans who need it most.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for standing alongside Wisconsin veterans. We couldn't do this work without community partners like you.

Every bike has a story, and every handshake reminded us why this event matters.

There were countless handshakes, stories shared, and opportunities to get to know the veterans who came out to the event. Seeing veterans connect with volunteers, community partners, and one another was a powerful reminder of the impact a simple act of support can have.

These photos capture just a few of those moments, along with the incredible volunteers who unloaded bikes, set up the event, and helped make the day a success.

What an amazing day. 🇺🇸🚲

The 9th Annual Bikes for Stripes Resource Fair was a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to support those who have served.

From the moment the event began, veterans and their families filled the grounds, connected with valuable resources, shared conversations, enjoyed a meal, and found support from organizations dedicated to serving them. The energy was incredible, the weather was perfect, and every bike in our inventory was claimed within the first hour.

While the numbers highlighted in this graphic are something we're incredibly proud of, the true impact goes beyond statistics. It was seeing veterans leave with smiles on their faces, families finding resources they didn't know existed, and community partners working side-by-side to make a difference.

To our volunteers, community partners, donors, sponsors, and supporters: thank you. Your generosity, dedication, and belief in our mission made this day possible.

To the organizations that joined us and provided resources and services to our veterans: thank you for showing up and making an impact.

And most importantly, to the veterans and their families who attended: thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving you. Everything we do is because of you.

As we celebrate the success of this year's event, we're already looking forward to continuing our mission and reaching even more veterans in the years ahead.
