If you are free on October 17th and looking to get a scoot in before the snow flies, get yourself to this event and join in celebrating the life of Jim Erskine. For many years Jim was the organizer and "cat herder" for getting Purple Heart recipients (including many members of the PHR of WI) up to the EAA Air Show for a flight with the Warbirds, personal guided tour of the EAA Museum and enjoying all the air show had to offer! And at no cost to the PH recipient thanks to Salute the Troops, Inc! Thank you Jim for all you did for us, rest easy sir.

The Purple Heart Riders of WI were proud to sponsor a Bev cart at the Fisher House Wisconsin golf outing yesterday. Members “J.J.”, “Tage” and “Squatch” were joined by proud supporter and Marine Jon Hall. Thanks for representing boys and congrats on winning the veterans division for the 2nd year in a row!

Purple Heart Day. 💜 Aug 7th, 2026. Not just another day to assign a hashtag.

We've seen the blood.
We've seen the helicopters.
We've been in the hospitals.
We've been alongside our brothers & sisters fighting through pain that most people will never understand.
We've watched our families carrying a burden they never asked for.

The Purple Heart medal isn't something you "win" or "celebrate" receiving.
The medal is evidence that someone gave a piece of themselves in service to the country we love.
Some never never came home. ALL came home forever changed.

On this Purple Heart Day, take a moment to reflect on what that purple and white ribbon and gold bust of George Washington truly represents.

It represents sacrifice.
It represents courage.
It represents lives that were altered in an instant so that others could continue living theirs in safety & freedom.

To every Purple Heart recipient and the families who have carried the weight alongside them, THANK YOU.

On June 20th, PHR-WI attended the IUOE Local 139 golf outing for Hogs for Heroes. After the golf, #66-Brandon Pszanka was gifted a gorgeous trike and was patched in by Nat Prez “J.J.”, State V.P. “Squatch” and State V.P. “Krutch.” Welcome to the PHR Brandon!

PHR-WI is proud to partner with Sloppy Joe's Saloon & Spoon and Smoke on the Water BBQ Okauchee to help bring you all the annual D-Day Ride and Hogs for Heroes Fest. Join us Sunday, June 7th for the ride and/or festivities afterwards. Come catch tunes by The Bobby Friss Band and hear the stories of triumph as the teams at Sloppy Joe's and Smoke on the Water donated the money from the 2025 to help Hogs for Heroes put 2 more injured Wisconsin Veterans back on the road. We have some exciting news to share! Last Fall at the PHR National Convention, the WI Chapter's own Jason "J.J." Johns was elected as National President! But wait, there's more... :) J.J. has appointed two fellow members of the WI Chapter to serve as national officers: Patrick "Squatch" Dunn has been selected as National Sec/Trez and Timothy "Tage" La Sage has accepted appointment as the National Chappy. Congrats brothers, we know you will lead well and do Wisconsin proud!
