Meet ISA Leadership! This week, we're highlighting Curtis Bradford, MD.

Dr. Bradford serves the ISA as Vice Speaker, helping guide the House of Delegates and support the leadership. He is a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist, practicing medicine at Endeavor Health in Evanston. After medical school and internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, he completed residency as chief resident at the University of Chicago, followed by a fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University.

Dr. Bradford represents Illinois on a national level as an ASA Alternate Delegate at the ANESTHESIOLOGY® annual meeting and the ASA Legislative Conference, bringing Illinois perspectives into national discussions about advocacy and the future of anesthesiology. He also serves as an ASAPAC representative and is involved with the ASA Grassroots Network and ISAPAC.

Away from the operating room and advocacy work, Dr. Bradford enjoys endurance cycling, volunteering at church, and traveling with his wife and children.

Meet ISA Leadership! This week, we're highlighting Johnny K. Lee, MD, FASA.

Dr. Lee is the Director of Regional Anesthesia at Endeavor Health and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Board-certified in anesthesiology, Dr. Lee has extensive leadership experience in regional anesthesia education, having served as Workshop Chair and Lead Instructor for numerous ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia workshops, including those for the ISA, NorthShore University HealthSystem, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

An active contributor to professional medical societies, he is a member of the Committee on Communications and a member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) Diversity SIG. His clinical and research interests focus on ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques and perioperative acute pain management, with recent publications in the Journal of Clinical Medicine and the Journal of ISAKOS.

In recognition of his contributions to medical education, Dr. Lee was honored with the ASRA Excellence in Education Award in April 2023. Outside of his clinical and academic work, he has participated as a volunteer anesthesiologist on international medical missions with Operation Walk Chicago.

Meet ISA Leadership! This week, we’re highlighting Jaskaran Mangat, DO.

Dr. Mangat is a PGY-3 (CA-2) anesthesiology resident at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Liberty University. He serves as Vice President of the ISA Resident Component for 2026-2027 and chairs the Wellness Committee at AIMMC. His clinical interests center around cardiac anesthesia and resident education, and plans to pursue a fellowship in adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology. His work earned a Best in Show presentation award at the 2026 Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists (SCA) Annual Meeting in Nashville. Outside the hospital, he enjoys spending time on the golf course with friends.

Thank you, Dr. Mangat, for your dedication to the ISA, your commitment to resident education and wellness, and your continued leadership in supporting the next generation of anesthesiologists.

Meet ISA Leadership! This week, we're highlighting Meghan Valach, MD.
Dr. Valach is a member of the ISA Committee on Governmental Affairs, where she brings her extensive experience in anesthesiology and ambulatory care to advocate for and support the anesthesiology community across Illinois.
Dr. Valach is the Anesthesiologist-in-Chief for Ambulatory Anesthesia Care – Midwest (AAC-Midwest) in Chicago. She completed her residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University and previously served on the faculty at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
For more than a decade, Dr. Valach has focused on ambulatory and office-based anesthesia, with a commitment to improving access to safe, cost-effective anesthesia care outside the hospital. She is also actively involved in national anesthesiology organizations, including leadership roles with the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA) and the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA).
