Great Charity Challenge

Great Charity Challenge Equestrians joining forces - $24 million distributed to 370 Palm Beach County Charities Save the Date!

At the heart of the Great Charity Challenge sponsored by Fidelity Investments® is a commitment to being impact-driven, transparent, inclusive, and community-focused. Our mission is to empower local nonprofits and drive meaningful change across Palm Beach County—while upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. Founded in 2009, the Great Charity Challenge sponsored by Fidelity

Investments® (GCC) came forward as a way to increase funding to local non-profits, following the 2008 economic crisis, at a time when donations were scarce. In its first year, the event generated over $400,000, benefiting 24 local charities. Today, the event has grown to benefit over 30 local charities competing for over $2 million each year.

100% of donations raised go directly to local charities. The organizing team at Wellington International, host of the Winter Equestrian Festival, covers all event-related expenses—ensuring your support makes a real and immediate difference. To date, the GCC has distributed $24 million to 370 Palm Beach County non-profit organizations. Join us Saturday, February 1, 2025 during 'Saturday Night Lights' hosted by Wellington International. Say hello to Speak Up for Kids Palm Beach County

Thanks to the support of Table 5 along with 5 Roosters, the $24,000 grant awarded will directly address the urgent needs of children in foster care in Palm Beach County. Each year, Speak Up For Kids receives nearly $35,000 in requests for essentials for children who have already experienced instability, trauma, and loss. This funding allows them to serve approximately 240 children, though demand consistently exceeds available resources.
Many children enter foster care with only a trash bag of belongings, lacking properly fitting clothing, shoes, hygiene items, school supplies, or even a bed. Requests typically range from $50 to $1,500 for items that restore dignity and stability—basics most families take for granted.
The reality is that requests don’t stop when funding runs out. This $24,000 investment allows Speak Up For Kids to say “yes” more often, stepping in when a child’s stability hangs in the balance. Each request represents a real child with a name, a story, and a future. These funds reduce disruption, protect placements, and ensure that children who have already lost so much do not lose even more simply because resources fell short.

Say hello to The Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County, Inc.

Thanks to the support of Stepping Stone Farm along with the Fidelity Investments®, the $26,000 grant awarded will directly support a new housing initiative entitled YIGBY, assisting local faith-based entities such as churches, synagogues, mosques, to build affordable housing on their land.
The cost and availability of land are two of the greatest obstacles to producing affordable housing units. Faith-based entities have land but lack the knowledge to develop housing. The grant will cover expenses to assist them in this process and take full advantage of Florida's new YIGBY legislation, passed in 2025. This legislation makes the process easier and more beneficial for faith-based entities if they understand and know how to use the tools the legislation provides. We have a severe affordable/homeless housing crisis, and we have found faith-based partners eager to assist in solving the issue.
This grant will help them accomplish their mission of providing a 6-month cohort and technical support to 15 faith-based entities. Our overall goal is to increase housing production by 2000 units each year, and we hope to achieve a minimum of 200 units because of this effort. We are part of an initiative called Faith in Action, and we believe faith-based organizations can help us serve the most difficult cases and will commit to keeping units affordable.

Say hello to Path to College

Thanks to the support of Wade Equestrian Farms LLC along with the Rein Family LLC, the $27,000 grant awarded will support administrative and technology infrastructure at Path to College’s Catapult Youth Mentoring Center, serving up to 3,000 students annually from low-income communities across Palm Beach County. This funding will strengthen systems and staff training, helping the Center operate efficiently and securely while providing a safe, future-focused space for students to plan and pursue their long-term goals.

Robust IT and administrative systems typically cost $25,000–$40,000 for network installation, hardware, software, and secure data, plus $10,000–$15,000 for staff training. Great Charity Challenge funding helps offset these costs, enabling the Center to reduce administrative bottlenecks, improve coordination, and allow staff to focus on mentorship and student support. With strong systems in place, the Catapult Center can track participation, monitor outcomes, and provide consistent advising and enrichment. For students lacking reliable technology or safe spaces, the Center offers a stable environment to advance academically and prepare for college and careers. These funds transform essential administrative capacity into greater access, equity, and opportunity for thousands of young people.
