We had some fun at Monday's drill practicing using fire extinguishers on some real flames! Thankfully structure fires aren't very common so we sometimes joke about forgetting what fire looks like. We followed that up with reviewing the importance of using tarps and other methods to try and preserve as much of a person's belongings in the event of a fire. Thanks for the great training, Tim and Jake!

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our longtime member and friend, Lawrence “Larry” Legasse, on September 27, 2026.

Larry dedicated more than 60 years of service to the Webster Volunteer Fire Department. During his distinguished tenure, he served as an interior firefighter, Fire Police officer, and Sergeant-at-Arms. In recognition of his steadfast commitment, Larry received the “Top Responder” award several times.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Larry’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him during this difficult time.

Godspeed, Brother Larry. Your service and dedication will not be forgotten

This morning six members of the Webster Fire Department joined countless other agencies in paying tribute to those lost on September 11, 2001 and in the years since. They climbed the equivalent of 110 stories, representing the height of the World Trade Center and the journey that so many set out to complete, but never had the chance to finish.

Please exercise caution when traveling through the area as there are still trees, branches, and downed power lines. Please respect barricades and cones as they are placed for your safety. And please do not drive through homeowners' lawns to try to get around them.

Tomorrow is the first day of school for Webster CSD students! That means our school buses will be on the roads transporting precious cargo. In New York State it's illegal to pass a school bus that is stopped with its red lights flashing. Please do your part and give them a brake!
