This week our Monday night drill went to the dogs (and cats)! We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Sam Kalis and Dr. Erin Hamlin from Irondequoit Animal Hospital to learn about how we can help animals who are experiencing a medical emergency. Our EMS partners from Penfield Webster EMS joined us as we learned how to restrain animals who are stressed to keep them and ourselves safe. Our members learned how to help an animal who has an airway obstruction, how to administer oxygen, how to perform CPR on a pet, and a plethora of other skills. A special shout out to Bert, Ernie, and Liz for allowing us to practice on them. Extra treats and scritches all around!

We want to send out a special shout out to Lincoln Fire Rescue for standing by in our quarters this morning for several hours while assisted at the scene in West Webster's district.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Penfield Webster EMS responded alongside the West Webster Fire Department, Webster Volunteer Fire Department, and Penfield, NY Fire Company, as well as numerous mutual aid agencies, to the fire at Bauman’s Farm in Webster.

For generations, Bauman’s Farm has been part of life in Webster. From fresh produce, flowers, and baked goods to Christmas trees, pumpkin picking, strawberry picking, and first jobs for countless local students, it has been a place where memories were made and traditions were born.

Our thoughts are with the Bauman family, their employees, and everyone affected by this devastating loss. We are grateful for the teamwork, professionalism, and dedication shown by the West Webster, Webster, and Penfield Fire Departments, our mutual aid partners, and every first responder who worked tirelessly throughout the incident. A special thank you to Perinton Ambulance for providing coverage in our district while our crews remained committed to the scene.

On our fourth day of Carnival, we are grateful to have the Fairport Fire Department and Lincoln Fire Rescue filling in at our firehouse while our members are up at the field. Special shout-out to Fairport for filling in overnight so our members can enjoy the festivities!

The west side parking lots on Ebner Drive is FULL and the South parking lot on Sanford Street is 3/4 full.

Additional parking for the carnival is at Spry Middle School!
