Packing care kits at Miss Julie's School of Beauty turned out to be an unforgettable day of giving back—and discovering some incredible Rochester history! 💛✂️

Ten of our RWN members gathered to pack care kits, and we were treated to a fantastic tour led by Community Outreach Coordinator Michelle Cuebas. Michelle gave us an inside look at how local organizations collaborate to lift up our community, along with a fascinating deep-dive into the history of beauty salons.

The coolest part of the day? Learning about the direct connection to RWN’s very own founding member, Jane Plitt! Beyond being a mentor and supporter of Miss Julie’s students, Jane produced a documentary on Martha Matilda Harper—the Rochester trailblazer who invented the first reclining shampoo chair and pioneered modern retail franchising.

Talk about full-circle inspiration! A huge thank you to Michelle for hosting us and to our 10 member volunteers for rolling up their sleeves to make a real impact.

Want to get involved in our next community outreach effort or SIG gathering? Head over to rwn.org to see what’s coming up! 👇

Our W**e SIG Deux took to the water in August, and honestly, we might never host a tasting on land again! 🍷🛥️

Sixteen of our members boarded the Riverie for an incredible evening floating down the Genesee River. Partnering with Flight W**e Bar, the group spent a gorgeous summer night sipping w**e, enjoying charcuterie, and soaking in the sunset views together.

It was such a hit that it might just become an annual tradition! Huge thanks to the members who volunteered their time to coordinate such a memorable night out.

Looking to raise a glass with this crew at our next outing? Friendly reminder: All Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are included with your RWN membership!

Head over to rwn.org to explore our groups and save your spot for the next gathering. 🥂
