A sampler quilt of various star blocks is the work of Arlene. She wanted a simple, very open quilting pattern that would work well for a man, but also soften the sharp angles of the starts, not accentuate them. We chose this out of production quilting design called, Duet, quilted as big as possible. Want to know a trick for finding a slightly tinted, light shade of a fabric? Sometimes the back side of the fabric is perfect. 🤫

Made from the Tilda Merry Little Christmas line, this quilt made by Cathy was a pleasure to quilt. I chose to highlight the holly in the Christmas themed fabric with an edge to edge continuous holly design in white Glide. It doesn’t show up well in the photos, but we were both happy with how it turned out.

Mary Ellen’s Hawaiian quilt she made for a friend. If I remember the story correctly, all the Hawaiian fabric was from shirts the husband had accumulated over the years, making it not only a beautiful quilt in beautiful fabrics, but a memory quilt as well. I used the Monstera E2E design from Quiltoff using Linen Glide thread.

Lauri made this fun fall quilt. Wanting to focus on the autumn feel rather than being exclusively Halloween-y, she chose “Autumn Oaks” from Urban Elementz as the quilting design. I used a new favorite color of thread - Linen Glide to quilt it. (Sorry for the sun from behind showing the orange of the back through to the front on the second picture).

Here is the queen sized quilt that my newest granddaughter will receive when she turns 8. It matches the baby quilt I made her and posted back in June (and which you can see in the last 2 photos). The center is a panel from QT fabrics. I added the borders and had fun quilting it with rulers and free-motion quilting, using black Glide and Clear MonoPoly threads.

So much better in person! This quilt of Cathy’s has honeybee and hive motifs throughout the fabrics, so I had to look for a quilting design that would bring that out. It’s not very visible on the front since the Linen Glide thread blends so well, but with the minky back, you can really see it. Love!

Ten year old, Helen, with her grandmother, Karen’s help, made this quilt! She came over, chose the quilting design (Duet - bought from Urban Elementz many years ago, no longer available) and thread (Glide Pink Lemonade, Glide 60 white on the back) and even came to watch me start quilting it. Way to go, you two!!

The pictures don’t do this justice. Leslie used bright, fluorescent polka dot and striped fabrics for this bear paw quilt. It just screamed for the bubbles edge to edge design. Solid design choice, (though an ironic word choice - “solid” when referring to bubbles). Cool Gray 3 Glide/Glide 60 blended beautifully with it.

This patriotic quilt, also made by Cathy, I quilted in Pacific Blue Glide/Glide 60 thread using the Star Spangled Banner Repeatable E2E quilting design by Wildflower Quilting. With the busyness of the fabric, it’s hard to see the pattern, even on the close up.
