🚨Bruce update 🚨 His CT scan revealed that he has had a previous injury that went untreated and his leg fuzed together abnormally while healing from the break.🥺 It’s heart breaking that he went through this pain without any pain management and corrective action. But all we can do now is provide the best possible plan for quality of life we can.
The options were:
-re breaking the leg and placing rods into the bone. But there would be risk it could make it worse
- amputation. But with age and arthritis in other limbs this isn’t a good option.
-pain management and palliative care
Luckily Bruce is a big strong boy, and doesn’t let his severe limp stop him from grazing grass all over the farm. I believe he has many years ahead of him with proper management. He is a little blessing and I’m happy to provide him with the end of life care he deserves❤️

Please send well wishes to Bruce, who is at UT vet hospital undergoing anesthesia for a CT scan. Bruce has a severe limp, and we are having diagnostics done to determine if we can correct it.
It’s hard leaving him somewhere for days after being new to Farmshire and being abandoned numerous times in life. I hope he knows how loved he is and will be returning home soon.

19 years ago I brought Dharma Sue home impulsively on April Fools day. It’s our first anniversary apart- but I know she is always with me. Dharma’s legacy is interwoven into every part of me, every part of Farmshire, and every rescued animal that came after her. Fly high my little pinto bean shaped angel. I will love you forever 💫💕

✨Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, one of the biggest days of the year for Non-profits, with donations potentially doubled. Winter is a difficult season in animal rescue. We are fundraising for agricultural strength heating mats for some of our eldest residents that struggle with the cold temperatures. Our other biggest winter related needs are blankets and hay/straw.✨

It’s this turkey dinosaur’s favorite time of the year.🦃We celebrated with our annual Ethel Day Celebration. He was properly groomed and dressed before his big debut for his feast and he enjoyed every moment of it except before cut off at the end.
We enjoyed a delicious vegan pot luck with volunteers and had such a great time feasting on cruelty free foods. 🍪🌽🥕
