We’re celebrating FOWA Rescues President and Cat foster coordinator Donna’s 70th birthday the best way we know how: by helping our lovingly foster-raised kittens find their forever homes! Our first Shepherd puppy to find her forever is Thelma. And she now has not one but two fur siblings. 🥰
One of our volunteers brought Thelma to the rescue's 40th Anniversary picnic for a fun day out and it was fate that her future dad would be there! He was at the picnic as a vendor and served her her first pup cup, a Curly's Ice Cream watermelon ice and fell instantly in love. After the rest of the family met her, they just knew she was a keeper. Happy forever Thelma!

Many of you remember Rose and her eight “Broadway stars” puppies. When we rescued her, she was emaciated and suffering from mastitis. We worked really hard to get her healthy and eventually Rose found a wonderful family of her own.

Sadly, Rose’s health took another heartbreaking turn. After being treated for what we now know was an incorrect diagnosis, her condition continued to worsen. She was recently rushed to the ER in excruciating pain and unable to walk.

Rose was finally diagnosed with discospondylitis, a serious and potentially life-threatening infection of the bones of her spine.

The good news? It is treatable. ❤️
The bad news? Her recovery could take up to 10 months of antibiotics, medications, strict cage rest, and ongoing veterinary care.

Her treatment has already cost over $7300.00 and is expected to cost nearly $10,000, and FOWA Rescue has committed to seeing her through it.

Rose has fought so hard already. We simply cannot give up on her now. 🐾❤️
