The DePaul Spartan squad had a big weekend at the Passaic County Wrestling tournament this weekend. We finished 3rd as a team moving up 6 spots from last year!! We had 5 medalists.
Joey Rizzuto 120- 🥇
Delvan Rotte 126- 🥇
Cody Aniche-Farrell 175- 🥇
Isaias Hernandez 138- 🥈
Franco Furfaro 106- 🥉
Notable finish from Rob Orlando with a 4th place finish, just nearly missing the podium.
We had a great showing as a team this weekend!

The Spartans beat a tough Wayne Hills team tonight 37-33. Freshman Lily Massenzio sealed the win with her major decision at 138. The Spartans are back in action tomorrow morning for our home quad vs ocean, high point and north hunterdon starting at 9 am. Our gym looks awesome!! Fans will be directed to the balcony for tomorrow’s quad as we are leaving the floor for wrestlers coaches and officials and media personnel only.

The Spartans had a great weekend at the Sam Cali. Had 3 guys make it to day 2 with 2 placing. Isaias Hernandez lost first round and fought through the whole backside to take 4th. Delvan Rotte took 5th.
Max Tripoli and Franco Furfaro both picked up their first high school wins. A very good showing by all of our guys. We are back on the mat next weekend at Catholic school duals at CBA Friday and Saturday!!

Merry Christmas to all our alumni and friends.

Your Spartans have had a busy weekend at the prestigious Beast of the East.

We started off with all 3 girls placing. Caroline Biegel taking first, Lily Massenzio taking 3rd and Olivia Georges taking 5th. And the girls team taking 6th overall as a team out of 60+ teams.

The boys followed and had some very good performances!
Isaias Hernandez made it to day 2 at 138 before running into a tough opponent from Nazareth.
Cody Aniche-Farrell fell just short of day 2 and picked up 3 wins in the process at 175.

Delvan Rotte and Joey Rizzuto both had 2 wins. Brady Tiernan picked up his first high school win.

The boys are back in action Friday at the Sam Cali tournament at the Morristown Armory starting at 9 am!

Congratulations to our two State placers Olivia Georges 3rd at 145 and Caroline Biegel 3rd at 235. It’s not what you worked for or wanted but you got the next best thing that you could get! The Spartan Family is proud of you two.

Also, Congratulations to our all of our wrestlers who made it to AC this past weekend for States. We had a great year sending 3 girls and 2 boys to states. Both boys made it to State Wrestleback 2 with a nice foundation to build on!!

Our Spartans had a busy weekend at Regions for both boys and girls this weekend. We had 5 boys qualify for the regions and 3 girls wrestle in the regions.

We qualified 2 boys for the NJ State Tournament in Atlantic City this weekend, freshman 113 Delvan Rotte taking 3rd and senior 285 Josh Turner taking 4th. Isaias Hernandez took 5th and Cody Farrell took 6th. Solid weekend on the boys side.

We qualified 3 girls to the State Tournament in Atlantic City with Sophomore 145 lb Olivia Georges and Jr. Caroline Biegel winning region titles and 114 Sr. Sophia Lentine-Turner taking 3rd.

Boy the boys and girls are up in qualifiers for the states from last year. Boys had 1 last year and 2 this year. The girls had 1 last year and 3 this year!! Progress!
