Known to some as the country's “Second Independence Day,” Juneteenth celebrates the freedom of enslaved people in the United States at the end of the Civil War.

The colors of the Juneteenth Flag contain a white star and surrounding star-burst that alludes to Texas and the "freedom of African Americans in all 50 states". The curve behind the star is representative of a new horizon and the colors were taken from the red, white, and blue of the United States flag.

Today, we proudly celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States Army — a milestone marking two and a half centuries of bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering service.

Since 1775, the U.S. Army has stood as a steadfast defender of our freedom and a symbol of the strength and resilience of the American people. From the earliest battles of our nation’s founding to missions around the globe today, the men and women of the Army have answered the call with honor.

At the Flag Manufacturers Association of America, we are deeply grateful to the soldiers — past and present — who protect the values our flag represents. It’s an honor to ensure that every flag they salute is 100% Made in the USA, with the integrity worthy of their service.

Happy 250th Birthday, U.S. Army. We salute you.

Fly your flag proudly today.
