Ryan's Case for Smiles is devoted to helping sick children with life changing illnesses feel better to heal better. That’s a similar rate of PTSD to all U.S.

Ryan’s Case for Smiles is dedicated to helping sick children cope with the stress of life changing illnesses and injuries. We provide children with whimsical pillowcases throughout North America to give them an emotional boost and hope that enhances their emotional well-being. A hospital stay can be a terrifying experience for a child. So terrifying that 20% of children who survive cancer meet the full clinical diagnosis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Military Veterans since the Vietnam war. The good news is our whimsical pillowcases actually provide children with seven proven stress relievers during their hospital stays. These stress relievers include: 1. Comfort 2. Distraction / Play 3. Choice/ Control 4. Familiarity 5. Expression 6. Connection 7. Hope Our new partnerships with the nation's leading child psychologists are helping us develop and distribute coping tools for families, with a goal to help children feel better to heal better. With every stitch, every yard of fabric and every pillowcase, we get one step closer to our goal of helping kids with life changing illnesses or injuries, feel better to heal better.

Pillowcase Sighting! A special pillowcase sighting, and a reminder of the little things that can bring comfort during some of life’s hardest days.

As this sweet child rests during chemo, we hope their pillowcase brings a bit of comfort and a reminder that there are so many people thinking of them and cheering them on.

To this brave warrior and their family, we are sending love, strength, and warm thoughts as you navigate this journey.

Our goal was to sew 40,000 pillowcases during September in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month- one pillowcase to represent each child undergoing cancer treatment across North America.
Thanks to the incredible generosity, creativity, and hard work of our chapters across the country, we didn't just reach our goal… we exceeded it.
Together, we sewed an amazing 50,648 pillowcases! 💛
Each pillowcase represents a child, a little comfort, and a whole lot of love and support during an incredibly difficult time.
To every volunteer, donor, and supporter who helped make this possible: THANK YOU!

Medical students from UNC recently took a break from the books and joined our Case for Smiles Raleigh NC chapter, sewing up some beautiful pillowcases that get right to the heart of our mission- helping kids feel better to heal better. Thank you!

Some days remind us exactly why we do what we do. ❤️

We had a wonderful day with our friends at Skanska, who came together to sew pillowcases for children facing serious illness.

The day was made even more special by a beautiful full-circle moment: Penny, who received comfort from Ryan’s Case for Smiles pillowcase, joined us to make pillowcases for other children who need that same comfort. Having Penny and her mom with us was a powerful reminder of why our mission matters. ❤️
