Together, we'll take on the NYT's "10 Minute Challenge," choosing one large-scale artwork to really look at, then talking through what everyone saw. 🌊🧶 Create Art with Purpose This Sunday! 🧶🌊

Join fiber artist and ocean activist Rebecca McGee Tuck for Weaving the Wrack Line on Sunday, June 14, from 11:00 AM–1:30 PM at Arts Wayland.

As part of Arts Wayland's Eco Month, this unique hands-on workshop explores how creative practice can intersect with environmental awareness. Using marine debris, reclaimed materials, and simple weaving techniques, participants will create original woven artworks while discovering how everyday discarded objects can be transformed into powerful artistic statements.

Rebecca will share examples from her own acclaimed work, discuss environmental challenges facing New England's coastlines, and introduce participants to artists who are pushing the boundaries of contemporary fiber art through creative reuse and sustainable practices.

Whether you're new to weaving or an experienced maker, this workshop offers a chance to learn, create, and see familiar materials in an entirely new light.

🎨 Spend your summer painting at The Arts Wayland Gallery!

Join Dr. Rahul Ray for an 8-week watercolor and acrylic painting class designed for both beginners and experienced artists looking to sharpen their skills. Through still lifes, landscapes, and portraits, you'll learn techniques that strengthen observation, perspective, composition, and confidence with your materials.

Acrylics offer vibrant color and flexibility, while Dr. Ray's approachable instruction makes watercolor—often considered one of the most challenging painting mediums—accessible and rewarding.

🌊✨ We’re still reflecting on last Saturday’s extraordinary opening reception for Tides of Change at Arts Wayland.

The evening featured a moving and thought-provoking performance by the dancers of Liquid Spine, under the direction of Katie Pustizzi, whose work brought the exhibition’s themes of ecology, resilience, and environmental change into vivid conversation with the artwork on view. We were also honored to feature choreography by Lonnie Stanton, whose contribution added another powerful dimension to an evening filled with creativity, reflection, and connection.

Dancers performed alongside and within stunning wearable sculptures created by fiber artist and ocean activist Rebecca McGee Tuck, crafted from reclaimed marine debris. Together, movement, visual art, and environmental advocacy merged to create moments that were beautiful, evocative, and deeply meaningful.

A special thank you to Andrea Blesso, Arts Wayland Board Member, for helping forge the connections that made this collaboration possible and for her work bringing the event together. Her vision and support helped create a seamless and unforgettable experience.

We are also grateful to JP Ducondi for these remarkable photographs, which capture the energy, artistry, and emotion of the evening so beautifully.

To the artists, performers, volunteers, staff, and everyone who joined us: thank you for making the opening of Tides of Change such a memorable celebration of creativity, community, and environmental awareness. It was one of those rare evenings where art didn't just inspire conversation—it created a shared experience that will stay with us for a long time.
