The Parmenter Foundation provides hope and support for our community members who are grieving or in need of compassionate end-of-life care. We provide funding for nonprofit organizations that deliver high quality, innovative bereavement programs and palliative care, and we offer educational and inspirational resources that help our neighbors navigate through the challenging grief process. The Parmenter Foundation is committed to helping MetroWest families build resiliency and facilitating their journeys toward healing.

The Parmenter Foundation is still buzzing from last month’s Wellness Together Conference in San Diego!

Executive Director Angela Crocker took the opportunity to share information about UGrieve — our initiative to create compassionate college campuses nationwide. Thank you to Modern Loss and UGrieve host Rebecca Soffer, to the organizers and to everyone who came out to connect.

Last night, we came together to remember.

Our Lights of Remembrance event was beautiful, healing, and a fitting way to honor the people we’ve lost. Each light held a name, a story, and a love that continues.

One of the most moving parts of the evening was seeing old friends' embrace and new faces welcomed in. That is what community looks like: carrying each other through grief and reminding one another that no one walks this road alone.
Our heartfelt thanks to our speakers, whose words touched every person in the room, and to everyone who came. We left grateful, for the people we remember and for the people beside us.

Until next year, may their light continue to shine.

Two more days to purchase a symbolic light in memory of a loved one to illuminate the Dora Efthim Healing Garden at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence. All proceeds go to help ensure that financial hardship does not prevent a hospice patient from accessing compassionate residential hospice care.

Please purchase your light(s) on or before October 9, 2026, so that we may include your loved one(s)' name in our ceremony.

Please note, names submitted after 2 pm on October 9th will not be printed in the program.

The Parmenter Foundation is proud to announce that Executive Director Angela Crocker will speak at next month’s Massachusetts Council of Nonprofits’ Annual Conference!

Using her extensive experience creating community among our grantees, Angela will lead a roundtable discussion on how to successfully find and foster partnerships in the nonprofit world.

This year’s theme of Community and Connection will highlight nonprofit professionals performing extraordinary work across the Commonwealth, as well as provide opportunities to form connections with other leaders. Registration is currently available for the October 21 conference in Worcester.

Data shows su***de loss survivors are three times more likely to take their own life.

During Su***de Awareness Month, we’re spotlighting the important work of 2026 The Parmenter Foundation grantee Samaritans. Samaritans offers lifesaving su***de prevention services and postvention grief support programs that meet people where they are, without judgment.

Through our grantmaking, we are proud to support Samaritans in providing grief support programs for our MetroWest community as we work together to assist survivors in their bereavement journey.
