Prayers for a speedy recovery for our J3! 💚 He’s a good one!

The Waxahachie Sun has received an update regarding the status of Jerry Meyer III, the WHS Indians quarterback who was injured during Friday’s game against the Duncanville Panthers.

According to Head Football Coach Lawrence Williams, Meyer suffered a broken collarbone during Friday’s game and his return date is currently unknown.

Meyer was voted the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 Playmaker of the Week following the Sept. 24 game against Dallas Skyline, when he threw for 376 yards and four touchdowns. His leadership, determination, and impact have helped the Indians earn recognition among the top teams in Texas and across the nation during the 2026 season.

Most importantly, the Waxahachie community is sending Meyer its heartfelt support and wishing him strength and healing in the days ahead. We stand behind him as he focuses on a healthy recovery.

“ROLL TRIBE!” 🏈💚🏈💚🏈
