Know a Texas student who will be a high school senior next year? Have them sign up for the THRIVE program!

This learning experience is part of the Student Success Series.

Students participating in this program will develop public speaking and leadership skills, learn more about the free enterprise system and hear from engaging motivational speakers. Plus, they’ll dive deeper into digital advocacy efforts and participate in a media training.

Thrive will take place July 31 - Aug. 2 in Waco.

Registration closes July 14 and is limited to the first 150 students who sign up.

On Thursday, our directors had the opportunity to donate more than 700 pounds of beef to CARE Services.

We purchased two steers from exhibitors at the Ellis County Livestock Show and Rodeo. Although these animals did not make the sale, they still held tremendous value in the beef market and we couldn't think of a better way to put that value to work than by giving back to our community.

We are especially grateful to exhibitors Kaylee Harper and Kayanna Farmer and their families for raising high-quality beef and allowing us to purchase from them. Protein is one of the most difficult items for food pantries like CARE Services to obtain, making this donation especially meaningful.

We are thankful for the opportunity to support CARE Services and help provide nutritious meals for hundreds of families across Ellis County.
