We had an incredible turnout at our Faith Employment event today! This experience truly opened our eyes to the significant employment needs in the Cedar Valley—especially within the non-English-speaking community.

We were honored to assist more than 27 individuals in building their resumes and cover letters. For many, this was a powerful learning moment. While many are actively seeking jobs, they often don’t realize that the first step is putting their employment history on paper. In many of their home countries, resumes are only required for professional roles, so it was important to highlight that even entry-level opportunities here require one.

We are deeply grateful to ONE Cedar Valley for supporting this important first step initiative.
We are also calling on local employers: if you are hiring for entry-level positions, we would love to partner with you. It truly takes a village to create opportunities and support our community.

It’s time to get our newest students ready for their big adventure! Registration for the 2026-27 school year officially opens on March 26, 2026.

📍 Where: Enrollment applications will be taken virtually at www.waterlooschools.org.
🎂 Eligibility: Children must be five years old on or before September 15 to be eligible for Kindergarten.
📅 Note: Please wait until March 26 to register, as that is when the online portal officially opens.

🗳️ Local elections matter! The Runoff Election for Waterloo City Mayor, Waterloo City Council Ward 1, and Cedar Falls City Council Ward 3 is coming up fast.

If you can’t get to the Courthouse during the week, or think you might be busy on Election Day, you have TWO opportunities to vote early this weekend:
📍 Saturday, November 22 – 10 AM - 2 PM at BHC Courthouse, 316 E. 5th Street, Wloo
📍 Sunday, November 23 - 9 AM - 3 PM at Dr. Walter Cunningham School, 1224 Mobile St, Wloo
