A Christmas voicemail is one of the last things Alisha Case has from the little girl she loved as a goddaughter. Days before Christmas 2025, Jor’Dynn Duncan called to thank Case for gifts she had dropped off at the Bayport, New York, home where the 7-year-old lived.

Four days after Christmas, Jor’Dynn was dead.

Jor’Dynn was removed from her mother’s custody in 2019 and spent about five years in foster care with a family friend. In December 2024, she was placed with Emily Kelly, the fiancée of Jor’Dynn’s incarcerated father. Kelly later received full custody and guardianship in April 2025.

Prosecutors allege the abuse began as early as January 2025. According to court records reported by News 12, investigators documented at least 90 recent injuries on Jor’Dynn’s body, as well as older injuries and scars. Authorities also said photographs, videos, and text messages recovered during the investigation allegedly documented abuse inside the home.

Jor'Dynn's father's girlfriend, Emily Kelly, faces charges of second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, unlawful imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child. Kelly's mother and daughter face their own set of charges.

An anonymous child welfare tip in July 2016 led authorities to a troubling discovery when one of five children in a Miami family could not be accounted for.

Angela Marjorie Dufrene was born on April 25, 2014, with her twin brother. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement list November 22, 2015, as her missing date. When Miami police issued a public appeal in July 2016, detectives said Angela had possibly last been seen sometime that November.

However, by then, investigators were trying to reconstruct months of conflicting accounts about where the little girl had gone.

Her disappearance was not discovered until an anonymous child welfare tip led investigators to the family in 2016.

A baby girl nicknamed “Mimi” disappeared from Detroit, Michigan, in 2006, and the public record offers little explanation of what happened afterward.

Jamilah Andredocel Haley was last seen on September 28. According to NamUs, she was believed to have been taken by her father.

The Doe Network also lists Jamilah as endangered missing and says her father is believed to have taken her. However, publicly available records do not identify him or describe the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. Further, there isn’t anything to indicate where investigators believed he may have gone with the child.

There is also little available information about the search for Jamilah in the years that followed. OBG couldn't locate a later law enforcement announcement saying she had been found, and her NamUs case remains active.

Nearly two decades later, few details have been made public about where she may have been taken.

A New Orleans mother has been missing since March after police say she picked up a man who was later named a person of interest in her disappearance.

Christine Wiltz, 34, was last seen during the early morning hours of March 27, 2026. According to the New Orleans Police Department, Christine picked up 42-year-old McArthur Mackey sometime between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. while driving her 2009 Lincoln MKX.

Police later warned that Christine could be at high risk for exploitation or serious physical harm. Her cousin recently told OurBlackGirls that Christine was working as a s*x worker at the time she disappeared, a detail the family believes may be relevant as investigators try to reconstruct her final known movements.

Months later, her relatives are still waiting to learn what happened to her.
