πŸ’ͺ YOUR DONATION IN ACTION πŸ’ͺ

Courtney Behnken, Executive Director of Slate Valley Trails joins VMBA to talk about the Trail Fund and why your contribution matters.

Slate Valley Trails was a recipient of a spring Chapter Trail Grant, allowing them to plan and develop a new connector trail linking their networks to downtown Poultney. The trail crew has been crushing it and will have it ready for the Season S'ender.

As Courtney puts it: Your participation helps the next Chapter bring their dream projects to a reality.

We can't wait to host the Season S'ender at Slate Valley Trails, September 19–20. Join us and know that your participation, and donation to the Trail Fund, is fueling more and better trails across Vermont.

πŸš΅β€β™€οΈ TRAIL GRANT SUCCESS AT OAK HILL πŸš΅β€β™€οΈ

Nick Bennette and Cole Predom (Windham County Trails Alliance President) are at Oak Hill showcasing trails with roots dating back to the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps days - and the exciting new flow trail partially funded by a VMBA Trail Grant this past spring.

Check out what they have to say about the project. Keep an eye out for the new flow trail coming to Oak Hill!

We've kicked off a new match campaign running through Sunday, September 6th at midnight. There's $5,000 on the line, and every donation is matched one-to-one. Your contribution goes twice as far.

Help Chapters like WCoTA continue building new trails and rehabilitating networks to keep Vermont's singletrack at its best.

✨ COMMUNITY BUILDER SPOTLIGHT ✨

This week we're celebrating Pride Rides VT - building inclusivity in Vermont's cycling community through group rides and events open to all levels and all LGBTQIA+ people.

Pride Rides VT organizes outings at least once a month across Vermont, creating safe spaces where everyone can ride together, support each other, and celebrate the joy of being on two wheels. They're expanding what community looks like on the trail - making sure there's a place for everyone.

When you add Pride Rides to your VMBA membership, your support goes directly to them - helping them continue hosting rides, building community, and making Vermont's trails more inclusive for all.

Want your membership to do even more? Add a Community Builder at vmba.org/join and help build a more welcoming mountain bike community.

πŸ”οΈ VMBA ACTION ALERT ⛰️

The Roadless Rule protects 45 million acres of National Forest land across the country - including protected forest locally in VT and NH. The USDA has proposed rescinding the Roadless Rule, removing the protections currently in place.

Over 10,000 miles of mountain biking trails, including many iconic destinations across the US, are protected by the Roadless Rule. A rollback could open these areas to development fundamentally changing the outdoor recreation experience.

The comment period is open NOW through September 20, 2026. This is your chance to let your voice be heard and help protect the trails the outdoor community enjoys.

πŸ’ͺ 8,305 MEMBERS & COUNTING πŸ’ͺ

We're getting close to our 10,000 member goal and for years, we've hovered right around 9,000. Now's the time to get us over the hump.

Here's why it matters: Your membership maintains 900+ miles of singletrack across Vermont. Every renewal funds trail stewardship, Chapter support, advocacy, and the work that keeps our trails in top shape.

There's still so much season left:
🎫 Bike parks are still open
πŸ’° 270+ discounts waiting to be used
πŸš΅β€β™€οΈ Countless miles to explore
🌲 Trails that need your support

Membership is the piece that keeps everything riding at its best. When you renew, choose your favorite Chapter as your primary and add-on others. Your choice directly supports the networks you love.

Get your membership today. Support the trails that support us all.
