Comic Book Creation with Alice, week 2:

In this strand, you’ll create your own comic
books, starting from character creation and
worldbuilding, then diving into paneling,
dialogue, drawing and coloring. This strand will be self-driven, with the option to work in
groups. You can come up with your own stories, heroes, and places, or make a new story in your favorite comic-book world! For fans of comic books or graphic novels, or young artists who want to explore a new medium!

Telling Stories Without Words with Robin, week 2:

They say a picture is worth a thousand words,
but even then, how can you possibly read them all? Let’s find out! In this strand, we’ll learn about principles that allow the details of most images, from the bigger picture to the more minute details, to be understood at a glance without needing to be told. And by the end, we’ll even have made our own story, tied tightly together by pictures and words alike!

Model U-iNto the Woods with Noam and Zora, week 2:

In the heart of the woods, there are nations full of plants, animals, fairies, and more! These magical, earthy, or mysterious countries aren’t set in stone yet; they’re up to you!! In this strand, we’ll develop nations in the forest and solve the issues that naturally come with living in the woods. There may be lions and tigers and bears, or maybe an underground network of mushroom secret operatives. Really, you can decide, together, in proper parliamentary procedure!

R&D&D with Johannes, week 2:

Role playing games are a blast, but it’s hard to
design an entirely new person to actually play
as! In this strand, we’ll work on designing characters for classic RPGs like Dungeons &
Dragons. The strand will cover everything from the mechanical workings of building a character sheet, to designing a background story, to painting a miniature, to even voice acting! Any level of experience is welcome.

Pop-Ups with Jameson, week 2

What if I told you that, using nothing but a little paper and tape, it’s possible to create dazzling panoramas and fascinating mechanisms? “What mystical craft is this,” you ask? Why, pop-up books of course! With a few folded levers, pulleys, and clever origami, you can make nearly anything spring from a page. So let’s get folding!

TD wrIting Group with James, week 2:

Have a book you’ve been writing but no one to share with? A comic that isn’t quite working? Do you just need a deadline or goal in order to get started on that script idea? In TD wrIting Group, you’ll have an opportunity to bring any
story-based creative work to camp. During this strand, everyone will have their work read, and then receive feedback from everyone else. You can also critique the teacher’s work, if you want!

Music Making with Colin, week 1:

Ever wanted to make your own music, but can’t find bandmates who show up on time? Learn how to use Apple’s Garageband software to put together pre-recorded loops and your own recorded sounds to make high-quality songs. You can record piano, guitar— even tennis balls falling into a pot of pudding! We’ll also explore the science of sound and play with magnetic tape. Bring your creativity and love of music, and turn it into something you can be proud of.

Writing and Laughing with Bridget and Camille, week 1

Do you love to write? If so, this is the strand for you! Stories, poems, scripts, silly sayings, anything! You’ll have lots of fun playing group writing games and you’ll have plenty of time to work on personal projects. We’ll cover everything from poems to playwriting to fiction. Get ready to write!
