We do have a few important rules of thumb for commenting and we ask that you respect them. EWG reserves the right to ban any user or remove any inappropriate content from this page, including but not limited to: irrelevant content, redundant content, hateful content, malicious content, uncivil or disrespectful content, attacks or complaints against an individual, financial solicitations, unsuitabl
e content, false or misleading content, and content that violates Facebook’s terms of use, code of conduct, or other policies. EWG will have no liability for any loss or damage in connection with such removal. When joining a conversation by commenting, we ask that you:
1. Announce yourself. If you have a relevant affiliation (professional connection, sales role), please share it.
2. Respect others. We expect to see different opinions shared here, and we expect them to be shared – and responded to – respectfully. We will decide what qualifies – and what doesn't – and delete comments we find offensive.
3. Explain shared links. We’re glad when people share linked resources with each other, whether it’s an EWG resource or not. We don’t allow unexplained links; in other words, if you post a link with no accompanying text to let folks know what they’ll find when they click, or why you’re sharing it, we’ll delete it.
4. Don’t comment to sell. EWG’s page is not a marketplace. If you represent a product that you think others would benefit from knowing about, do it because you really think they’d benefit, not because you want to sell more stuff. That’s what Amazon is for.
5. Make your point, once! Again, we expect participants to disagree occasionally. What we don’t plan to foster is multiple comments that hammer home a repeat message – it’s simply not helpful for the other folks who follow our page, it lowers the quality of dialog, and runs people off.
