Meet Adaleigh!!! 😊

Adaleigh was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-Cell) at age 3.5 and completed treatment at age 6 in 2022. This year she celebrates four years off treatment! While on treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic, she spent over 140 nights sleeping in the hospital, battled sepsis 3 times, and struggled with long term effects like neuropathy and a stroke-like event which required years of intense therapy to recover.

Today you can often find her working hard as a rising 5th grader, dancing, swimming, and connecting with friends whenever she can!

Addie said, “Having a pen pal really makes an awesome connection with other friends that have cancer and it’s way more fun than texting! Sometimes when I’m at school, I feel like I don’t belong because my friends don’t understand cancer. But with my pen pals, I feel like I do belong.”

A big thank you to our hospital partner, Riley Children's Health, for helping Porter receive his Boombox during his clinic appointment!

Porter is so excited to connect with new friends who understand what it’s like to go through treatment for leukemia. And we have to say—Porter is the BEST! He has an impressive stuffie collection and loves to draw, color, read books, play board games, watch Disney movies, and play outside.

Porter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) this April and is now undergoing treatment. Let’s fill the comments with messages of encouragement for Porter as he courageously fights cancer!

Ever wonder what’s inside our Boomboxes? Swipe to see what our pen pals receive when they open one!

Each Boombox is filled with stationery, writing supplies, and fun activities to help kickstart letter writing between pen pals. We go beyond creating connections! We make letter writing fun, creative, and something kids can look forward to while they’re fighting cancer. Who doesn’t love receiving happy mail?

Meet one of our Club Members, Juliana!!! 👋🏼

"At 4 years old, Juliana bravely faced a battle no child should ever have to face. Juliana was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) B cell in December 2021.

Juliana endured a 2.5 year treatment plan during Covid. Times were extremely isolating. Masks and covid test were also required for every procedure and inpatient visit. We are so fortunate that Juliana was given the option to enroll in a clinical trial, one that would later get approval from the FDA to become a standard part of the treatment plan for many ALL B cell pediatric cancer patients.

She finally rang the bell in 2024. She just celebrated her 9th birthday. She loves making art, playing soccer, and playing with her puppy. She loves to dance and is in Jazz at her dance school. She also enjoys watching The Houston Dash and Rice University’s Women’s soccer team."
