Meet Adaleigh!!! đ
Adaleigh was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-Cell) at age 3.5 and completed treatment at age 6 in 2022. This year she celebrates four years off treatment! While on treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic, she spent over 140 nights sleeping in the hospital, battled sepsis 3 times, and struggled with long term effects like neuropathy and a stroke-like event which required years of intense therapy to recover.
Today you can often find her working hard as a rising 5th grader, dancing, swimming, and connecting with friends whenever she can!
Addie said, âHaving a pen pal really makes an awesome connection with other friends that have cancer and itâs way more fun than texting! Sometimes when Iâm at school, I feel like I donât belong because my friends donât understand cancer. But with my pen pals, I feel like I do belong.â
